I think big bee is correct about them using the same size axle tubes on all years but I might be wrong I haven't looked much up on the super dutys D60.

I figured but that's perfect! What is the 05+ coil spring diameters? also does it have a flat footprint I'm not sure how to tell. I'm putting a grand master plan together in my head just got to make sure it will work lol
So basically i am trying to convert my 04 axle to being coil sprung. I found some brackets for $44 each that are made for a 3.125 diameter axle and mounts a 5" diameter flat footprint coil spring. They are weld on but then i can buy a 4 link and the upper 05 buckets some shocks springs and call it a day.
Lol hold on let me get some ones, that sucks about the 05 coils i thought i was on to a cheap coil conversion.
What is the advantage of coil overs? If its a significant upgrade i may consider it lol, i am converting to 08 rear leafs so i only need to do the front end now. Those are nice kits however and thehbare shiny...i like shiny.
Holy lord jesus those are expensive!! I just looked at prices lol.
Still though what's the advantage of a coilover vs say my leafs?
Its the build quality, rebuildablility, and adjustability. They use King coil overs in buggies and trophy/baja trucks for good reason. I am not sure about them on a SD, you may have to find some reviews but I imagine they would give a significant ride improvement. Especially since these are set up for SD from the factory.
I'd love to have it on mine, but it is pretty expensive and I like the simplicity of leafs.
We anticipated a significant improvement over the stock ride. However, in particular we greatly underestimated the enhancement this kit provides on pavement. Especially going around corners, this kit is leap-years ahead of the stock setup. We'd even say it's better than that of the new '05-and-up coil-sprung Super Dutys. Much to the delight of our donor truck's owner, this kit performs awesome in the dirt as well. Going over small roller whoops at speed is now way too much fun, and the speeds at which you still feel safe and comfortable at are actually very dangerous without a cage. The steering feels more responsive than ever, and the wheels have a more predictable return-to-center feel than before. All in all, we give this kit two thumbs way up.
All the coilover setups will need to be adjusted on a per vehicle basis as even no two stock setups ride the exact same. and also depends on driving habits and terrain.
You and me both man lol, can the knuckles be swapped? That's good to know can the stock wheel bearing units be reused? Its very interesting and seems worth while just really pricey. Maybe down the road i will buy bits and pieces but not now lol.
I do like the adjustability of coil overs since they can be fine tuned to my driving habits and the type of terrain most commonly seen.
Same. I love my big truck, but I'd love to have an even smoother ride. And the coilovers and 4 link look awesome! I wouldn't use it off road barely at all though and that makes it hard to justify.
I think I will eventually try the Old Man Emu 2" lift we talked about a while back. $1800 for new leafs for all 4 corners.
Yeah its hard to justify but they look and perform awesome ill read that after class lol. However i basically already started to outfit it for offroad use lol.

Now you've got me interested in the OME lift. Hrm... this is just terrible for my bank account, almost as bad as my RC trucks.
