Tugly, please post the Datalog I sent to you last night. That is going to bring up a few more questions about AE.

I don't bother entering vehicle info any more in v13.1.0. I just select 2002, Ford, and Powerstroke 7.3L
I put my VIN and stuff in the first few times, but it really isn't used and since it won't save the info anyways, no use
I would really like to be able to save the session configuration (PIDs, scales, vehicle info, etc). It has to be an oversight in this version, the utility of it is quite obvious
IMHO, it would be quite simple then to send a config file to others who are new to AE. They can load the file, log their run, send them in. Simple
Yeah I think losing the save session button was a major code writing muck up, But I'm sure they will discover the error of their ways. (With enough nasty phone calls...) I'm stiil discovering the existing ones.....
Hello- I found this thread last week and have found it very helpful. Last month I picked up a 1997 E-350 12 passenger with a 7.3. Since it is my first diesel, I wanted to be able to diagnose and do my own work as normal. I got AE last week, and have been following along. The van seems to be running decent, has 150k. I wanted to capture data and see what it looks like to see if everything looks to be operating as expected. I have version 13.0.1, and have some issues as others are. Every time I disconnect I have to reconfigure everything, sensors, ranges, etc. I cannot save the vehicle at all (no option to). This is a real PITA. I do believe I have been able to capture data, but if I try to do a playback with more than 2 sensors the program crashes and needs to close. I am suspicious the EOT sensor is out of range. I'll attach a couple of photos. I was going to attach a file too, but I don't see how.

Hi GerryL,
Send an update request to AE and they will send you the link and activation for 13.1.0, which fixes the playback and some other issues
On another note - your EOT looks normal on the screen. You can save your file at Drop Box, Google Drive, or the like - then link to it from here. Or... you can post some more and build up enough to get PMs and the ability to attach files.
Thanks for the info Tugly. I was wondering about the new member status being the limitation on attaching. This thread is great, I am reading a few pages/day.
This morning I went out to check EOT vs IAT on a cold soaked engine. The EOT was 5ºF higher than IAT, so probably OK. BUT, when I tried to run a KOER cylinder contribution test, AE told me the EOT voltage was out of the required range for the test. ??? So now I am not sure.

i got the email for downloading the new software but it doesn't look simple at all. A security dongle?
But if it fixes all the connect and vehicle saving problems I will have to fight threw it all. It will probably take me a whole day to do so I'll have to plan ahead.

v13.1.0 fixes the log playback and some other issues, but still does NOT have the save vehicle or config options. You can also NOT pre-configure your PIDs- you must be connected to the vehicle's OBDII to even see the PIDs available.
The security dongle is built into the Proline USB connector units, so just the one USB port is used for the adapter and (internal) dongle.
I followed the directions, which said to REMOVE all previous versions first, then installed it , then activated the Ford Enhanced pack.
Giotto does not save sessions yet, and it's buggy. I'd leave that one alone for now. You might look into one of the other versions, many are available for free download to work with the OBDII adapter you have now.
I got an email from Jay, the software engineer at AE today. I had sent an email to him asking where the Save Session option went.
His reply..."Sorry, that feature won't be coming back. Was a major reason for release delays also most cars it's incompatible with because the connection had to be done everytime. We found so few people used it for the time we spent making it work for the models wasn't a good use of our time."
So few people???????? I think their data is as buggy as their program.
I'm really wishing I had bought a different brand of scan tool.
I got the same information when I called a couple days ago. My personal feeling is that forgetting about that save session functionality is a big mistake, but if we (those of us that want it to look at only one or two vehicles that we own) are in the minority, I can see why they feel it isn't important. If most users are independent shops that see one car after another for troubleshooting, they may be right. But they will likely lose the recommendations from people like us. I sure know that re-entering and reconfiguring sensor parameters over and over is a real PITA. It is different if you are getting paid for the time while you work on a vehicle. Since I am working on my own older vehicle, I don't really care about newest vehicle/program support, and I requested v12.3.0 which has the save session and does all I want to do. Would I have bought something else if I knew this was the direction they were going in? Maybe, depending on what is available at what price. I know at this price, one dealer service visit could eat up that cost, so I am still happy, just not thrilled; it seems a bit of a backwards decision to reduce functionality.
