Some things don't need a windshield. Looking out past a radiator cap is enough.

Thanks for the warm welcome back. I haven't done much with Ford trucks in a while, I have been doing a lot with early Ford passenger cars. I lurk here but don't post since I don't have much to add. I hoped everyone would enjoy the TT truck pictures.

I took my truck out for a quick spin to see how the headlights worked after I put in better grounds. They are much better, not like a new 12V system but good enough for the limited night driving I might do.
This is the Missouri State capital

You have a pretty capitol. Can cars drive right up to the capitol building?

How are your headlights on a dark country road?

Here is the Pennsylvania capitol.

And since is a Through the Windshield thread here is a pic I took from my car this past winter from across the Susquehanna River.

I need to head out on a dark country road soon and check them out.
Yes, you can drive right up to the capital. There is actually a parking garage under it. The capital is very accessible to the public and there is a nice museum on the main floor.
This is technically the back of the capital. The front faces the river and there is a drive that goes all the way around it. There are often events on the lawn pictured.

Every year the high school has Capitol Caroling in the rotunda.

Coming back from the car wash in Coudersport early this morning, this was parked along the road. Don’t know what it is, but it must be heavy. Don’t know if I’ve ever seen tractors with 4 sets of axles in the back. They have the mountain we’re on to climb on US 6. If I hear them coming up, maybe I can get out in time to take pictures. We’re 1/2 mile off US 6 on the south side.

Here a huge truck hauling a drier for the local paper plant in December 2019.

See the pusher truck behind the main rig

The driver could raise and lower the wheels to lift the rig. He could shift the wheels left and right. There were steer wheels in the rear.

The drier came from Japan, up the Atlantic and down the St. Lawrence Seaway to lake Erie where it was loaded on this rig. Several years earlier the company brought a similar drier up the Delaware Bay to port of Philadelphia and trucked it from there. Maybe they thought travelling rural north west PA was easier than coming from Philly.

Picture taken during last week's Truckstock in PA. I was riding shotgun in EffieTrucker's green '53 F100.

The countryside was like going back in time with nothing modern in sight, so I rendered them in black-and-white. That is Doc's black F1 in front of us.
The other photo is Fordf31948's truck behind us.
