Yup
In Studebaker's case they were broke and couldn't afford new styling. They cut down the Lark bodies to make the cabs and then bough the old Dodge (57-60) bed stampings for the wide beds. The frames were basically unchained from that late 40's through the mid 60's. It's not really the greatest of fits, but somehow it all works.
At least Ford used their own bed stampings. They used the wide beds from the "frigerator" era trucks for several years in the early 60's after the cabs got the new styling.
I think it was after they found out the unibody trucks didn't hold up to the twisting of the frame.
It was a glorious day in the Northwoods today. Temps have been unseasonably mild for late October, and the leaves are hanging on a little longer than usual. I took the truck out for a little drive--the first exercise it's had since the return trip from TS24. This is a shot from the beginning of the dead end town road we live on:
There's lots of consequential things happening in our world just now--But the beauties of nature remind us of our Creator and His unchanging care for us.
I miss the fall colors from up north (CT) as where I am in NC (Raleigh area) the colors are kind of washed out, dull green and brown, all the time in fall till they fall to the ground
It is nice to see pictures with the bright color.
