Short bed or Long bed?
Goal is to have this done for under 10k including price of 1966 4x4 & The Donor Truck.
Think it can be done? 5100.00 So far.
I love the short beds that's why I cut mine down but the LWB will tow better. I still vote short bed.

Am I missing something here? I thought you already did a 2.7 swap in a 4x4 and sold it for funds toward the 427 truck.

In process of adapting 2015 & up Disc Brakes to the ‘66 F100. That will give me ABS plus allow for a Electronic locking rear diff with electronic park brake.
Tire wheel selection also much better.

In process of fitting column, pedals and seating.

if I decide not to do the 150 brakes the backup plan is to go with 12” 6 piston discs with late model 150 bolt pattern. It would be more cost but a lot lighter.

I have found the F150 brakes are a direct bolt on to the '66 hubs! I just had to change the bolt circle a bit to use the late model wheels. The wheel tire combo tucks up nice within the fender.

Total cost only $17.00 I already had the brakes, they were free! Dirt cheap in the junkyard too

welded up the holes using ‘66 studs. Welded, ground down. Then simply drilled new holes.

I called out BS on the post below on another part of forum. I am now getting what I consider threats from Moderator beechkid. I still say utter nonsense its simply not going to happen and most likely has NEVER happened in az.
To be speeding and a cop then tows your car because you had a LS swap in it.
So if I disappear from forum all will know why. Not backing down from the nonsense and what I take as a "warning/threat" If I do not remove the post. What he has done IMHO is much worse than me pointing out its BS.

It doesn't get released to you either.....you get to go to court and just sit there a listen as the judge decides if the vehicle should be released, "repaired" or scrapped.....and you get to pay the whole bill!

Much better off going with the 5.4, EB, etc. imho
The last PM from beechkid More absolute garbage and he knows it

Yes he does, as a modified exhaust (sound) is all the probable cause a law enforcement official needs and yes, in AZ the can and have impounded vehicles before....as a matter of fact, I (professionally) was involved in the criminal prosecution of a homeowner (rancher) who painted his car in his garage...… his neighbors complained of the "smell"...as a result the feds got involved....but here is the big issue....he and his wife lost custody of their children (child endangerment to illegal possession and application of toxins), their homeowners insurance was cancelled and after the state & feds obtained an "inspection warrant", the state had to conduct residual cleanup (including dried particulates on the concrete floor) and the fine was 3 times the cost of cleanup, investigation and prosecution costs...…. $1.7 million.

Now that aside, I will give you more opportunity to re-think and readdress your comment to me...….it's not that you disagree, but to italicize the word "FALSE" is yelling liar...and the site rules are very specific on this....and that is all I'm asking you to address.

So let me get this strait - someone got their feelings hurt because you italicized the word "false"? Furthermore, the site rules are very specific that italicizing such a word is "yelling" at someone calling them a "liar"?

Me thinks that the site rules state explicitly that you cannot personally attack someone. Italicizing the word "false" is hardly a personal attack, especially if it is only to call BS on a previous post that has no references included to prove fact - at which point, it is simply opinion vs opinion.

Even if it is in response to a well known or indisputable fact, who cares? Anyone can disagree with the truth, but it just makes them look like an idiot - it is no skin off the nose of the one who stated the fact.

If one gets their feelings hurt because someone called BS, it is most likely BS indeed, and they know it.

If this is coming from a moderator, it looks to me like the following quote may well apply:

"We have learned by sad experience that it is the nature and disposition of almost all men, as soon as they get a little authority, as they suppose, they will immediately begin to exercise unrighteous dominion."
