Randy, how do you like your air polisher and what brand is it? I'm in the market for a new polisher and really thinking about the DeWalt. It has slow start, variable control **** and variable trigger. Reviews for it don't seem too bad.
Thanks
Chad
Date on my Makita is 12/89! So a bit shy of 30yrs. Replaced the cord once but nothing else. A bit noisy now but keeps on truckin'
Every time I think I should retire it the next purchase I had made dies so I go back to the Makita. The Dewalt did not make it thru the first complete sand and polish! Had to finish with the C/P Air and Makita.
I think the newer versions of polishers are more for detailers getting out swirls not for complete sand n buff jobs. But, With the 3m 3000 grit pads a ton of buffing time is eliminated. I previous also used wool pads but after going to the latest 3m stuff the wool are for display only . .
Thanks! I big part of build was to have proper sound . . I think once i get it dialed in it will sound even better. Its only on default tune now with a very high idle.

What did you do for fuel pump/s and lines to feed the efi from the cab tank?
Thought I posted pics of the fuel system but with brain fog one never knows.
I used a stock fuel tank but modified it for EFI yet tried to keep it stockish looking.
I added a Holley HydraMat on fuel feed side.
I used a 1100 HP Mechanical pump that feeds a reservoir which has a hidden high pressure pump inside. Its a return system where I added another sender size hole for pickup and also A Return. Fuel Gauge sender in stock position
The pressure line to EFI is hidden along with Power Steering hose and runs up back of engine out of the way of heat.
I used a stock 427 SOHC fuel log to make it appear stock feed but its actually the return line that runs in a stockish location. It goes down to fuel pump but kinda a hidden return line to Reservoir and from there return tucked inside of frame back to tank.
A Hidden MSD box also used
The EFI setup runs the ignition timing. (MSD built me a Locked distributor to go with it) Still a lot of tuning to do but really need to get it out on road to start to adjust stuff.
For fuel lines I used the AeroQuip push loc system but added band clamps for added security. (look like a stock Ford Clamp)
Pic will show the supply and return line for fuel. I used Bulkhead fittings in existing holes in frame. No drillin' needed
Dont recall posting pics of done undercarriage
Thanks for the fuel supply photos and info. I never thought of using a mechanical pump to supply the high pressure pump, will need to look into that.
As always great workmanship on the underside of the truck.

You had mentioned swapping a 4x2 to 4x4 front axle? Any build pics?
Finally have the 427 Truck box in primer! All four corners had creases. Goal was to metal finish entire box without the use of fillers. With help of a friend managed to get it pretty straight.
Did have to use a very small amount of filler on bed floor as for a bit of pitting. Will see how it all blocks out.
Its now in worlds largest oven setting up. hoping to have it close to ready for next stage this week.
Way too much work for a old fart flat out out of elbow grease.
