Is that a factory cut on the floor of that cab? Looks like it was cut out with a plasma cutter. I've got a 2wd/automatic cab so mine isn't cut out. I had thought I'd cut it out and use the high hump from the '78 4wd donor but if it will clear I'm going to let it go. Will find out after I get the 5.0 and AOD mounted.

someone cut it out at some point in its life. 6r80 clears with no issue but transfer case on 4x4 setup is close but non issue.
when I am just fitting something it could be one of 6 different cabs depending on which one is easiest to drop on at the time. Typical I have 2 cabs on cab carts at any given time. I just pick easiest of the 2 and use it. It takes maybe 5-10 min to drop a cab in place.
Very cool to have that many trucks and parts sitting around to pick from. And not that I'd want to live where you're at but the dry climate is sure nice to be able to blast something and not have to get it in primer right away.

engine now in proper spot. I was able to use the donor ‘15 Transmission crossmember. I can use stock ‘15 engine mounts too! They are in just need to cut piece from donor frame.
engine and trans mounted in place. Just started on wiring so I can fire it up for first time in truck.
Make sure all is well no leaks etc after having engine apart.
Trying to use use parts I have hanging around without having to spend much $$.
Make it a cheap driver for now.
I cut engine mounts off of donor frame using stock engine mounts and it's a bolt in! Very nice fitment.
It will be a bit of a chore but the '15 Cluster will be integrated into the stock dash. I will also be using the stock HVAC, HVAC controls, Steering Column and Wheel along with a few other Creature comforts. The Cruise Control will run off the canBus. Would love to use the front and rear axles out of donor but mounting points on frame are toast. Would have loved to have that 3.55 Electronic Locking diff along with Electronic Park Brake. Maybe down the road I can do that but I really just gotta make a nice driver for now. Something I can tow a decent trailer with, haul stuff have good power yet get great MPG.
I was also able to use the Transmission mount and Crossmember from the donor truck! I like when stuff is free and fits!
Best fitment the engine is offset to right to match the rear axle or very close. Engine/Transmission parallel to frame of course. Took a bit of figuring using all donor mounts/parts/bolts
I will be using power bucket seats from our 2007 Milan that got totalled. Bought the salvage car for 124.00 and it had one week old tires on it along with only 60k miles on the car. Seats will get dyed Interior color
Truck was originally Wimbledon White with Red Interior. It will go back to the same.
Still debating to keep it a long bed or change it over to a Short Bed. Short bed box is much closer to primer/paint.
Short bed or Long bed?
Goal is to have this done for under 10k including price of 1966 4x4 & The Donor Truck.
Think it can be done? 5100.00 So far.
