spent a bunch of time helping friend do a LS3 swap in his ‘56 BelAir (has had 33 yrs)
we painted it 22 yrs ago but finally getting close to completion.
that means I can spend more time on my trucks!
Eco2 ready for paint & final assy Complete chassis for Eco2 This is state of Rainbow Ranger 1966 short bed Raptor crate swap w 10 spd. Now on to underhood stuff. New project. 1965/66 cab n sheet metal on 2019 F150 chassis. It will allow for a 9’ 3” camper on back. I have a “spare” 27 mile 3.5 eco that may go in because of cost but because already on 4th ‘66 truck with eco would like to try something else. This is a factory’66 4 x 4 with 2.7 eco Eco2.7 and “CamperSpecial “ CamperSpecial 2019 chassis 2019 CS
Partial current projects. Why not much gets done!
Anyone close by that wants a ‘63 F100?
it’s just in my way & with current projects will never get to it. Plan was to drop in a very low mile 3.0 v6 FWD from a 2007 Mercury Milan.
would love to build it dare to be different but just not going to happen. 4whl independent suspension. 4 whl disc with ABS. It’s all here with or without engine/driveline. Truck currently has a 1956 292.
unreal how easy it is to adapt 2018-20 F150 parts to the ‘66.
Umm, yeah. Was thinking about doing that myself, but figgered it would be too easy. Need something more challenging. LOL
As always though, what you consider easy, 95% of us will just scratch our heads at.

It took less than an hour to fit the 2018-20 Raptor Radiator, Condenser & cooling fans to the '66 Support. About an hour to fit the left apron to support and about 30 minutes to fit right apron to support.
This radiator is 44" Wide vs the what 27" wide radiator for the '66? This is a BUNCH easier than changing 63-64 style core support to a '66!
A HUGE learning curve trying to understand the wiring harness portion as I was WAY overthinking the Can-bus. In reality it's quite simple to add or remove anything one may or may not want on the canbus. A false turn and engine may not start but easy to test & do) Ok, I did have a Ford engineer stay over for a few days to teach me the ropes & he made it look so easy. A FEW more lessons and I think I will get the hang of it. My last FoMoCO how to wiring class will take place next week. Will post some "how we did it's" when done if enough interest. The wiring under dash will probably be less complicated than a Stock '66 custom cab.
In process of attempting to add the 2018-20 Raptor Transmission cooler setup which is a bit more complicated and different from the normal F150 which has the pancake type filter mounted to front of transmission even in the max trailer tow. Short trans fluid lines run the very short distance to cooler then long tubes run up front to carry coolant along with a pump to circulate it all.
Just read through this thread...awesome! When you first said you got rid of the 427, I thought you meant the truck. ! But then understood it was the engine.
Makes my axle/ps/pb prjextvlook like child’s play! . You do incredible work!

Thanks! very very close to firing the Raptor crate engine. Got it to crank, all systems a go but need to add fuel in a bucket to make sure it fires off before I finalize the wiring harness.
Now that is something I can get on board with! All too many times people try & put these new, digital dashes in old cars and they like like... well... *****. To me at least. This seems to keep the main style of the truck while fitting in the new dash component. Nicely done. Wouldn't expect much less based on what I've seen from the rest of the builds though.
