wonder if we can con trey into pickin them up for us! thats his neck of the woods now days.
well, lets see i got a good little coleman update tonight for y'all.
friday i picked up a 220B 7/1933 in monrovia for 30 bucks with a period correct sunrise globe, burns great and runs smooth! couple dents and overall shape is great! i even took it to the small socal lantern gathering saterday night.
also at the gathering i picked up a 220 and 228 lanterns for free, granted there in a bit rough shape.... likely will be parts lanterns but i may go through my parts pile and make up a good user for a friend of mine.
and thank you again sean for getting the little 5120 propane to me! the lantern relay worked great! still thinking what to do with the little bugger. since there is so many of them out there in 100 times better shape for not much money, ive been kicking around the idea of electrifying it to make a cool nightlight or something of the sort. i will try my best to not make any permanent mods to it so at a later date it can be converted back to propane. but for right now just an idea.
and last but not least i got a **** from a CCF forum member for free for my Coleman 275A a.k.a. Turd Lantern. so hopefully soon ill get to fixin and cleaning up that.

Sounds like a great weekend. Good idea for the 5120. Another turd back to life.

just a quick copy and paste from another forum i posted on.
ive doubled up on my flame suit for this one.....
anyways got this beat up little 5120, no glass, paint chips from hell, vent is chipped some, and missing the canister holder.
for now its electrified! (ducks.....) no hard mods are done to it other than removing the burner screen, which in my book is no big deal.
i gutted a old desk lamp i have that uses a 12volt halogen lamp..... 2 reasons for that, for one the lamp holder is smaller and able to almost fit in the burner tube....and the second reason is i had all the parts i needed.
i may convert it later back to lp/butane, or some how re plumb the valving to work on a small 1lb lp tank.
in the meantime a clear globe or maybe a frosted globe would sure put the finishing touches on.
hmm alright, i think ill have to pick up a gallon at harbor nightmare next time.
just got done cleaning out the Q99 generator....tried a test fire and the lantern lit but not very well....and the biggest kicker was its got a pinhole in the genny.... sigh all that work for nothing.
nice! that a coleman? cant say ive seen one like it before.
also holy smokes!!!! its been over a year now since i met up with ya sean to get those lanterns fixed up, and now im at 13 or so lanterns 2 stoves and a heater.... haha
Turns out we didn't need them at all. Lotsa' genset power, and my fellow campers were using (blasphamy) BATTERY lanterns! They never came out of the back of the truck.
The Coleman Powermate, however, was a complete, QUIET, success, but the temps were so moderate that we didn't use the A/C at all, and the microwave very little. Burned less than a half-gallon of gas, total, over five days.
Alas, this is the only photo of it that I caught, and it's just a small portion of a larger photo, cropped and blown up to where it's fuzzy.
