didnt get my MilSpec fired up for memorial day, but ole glory was out and proud! just like every day its out! the only way!
wish she would get along with her solar light...lol i mounted it a little close and after a while it gets knocked out of adjustment.
anyways, having a off night here at the house....phone off and the whole bit. i FINALLY put my October 1928 L220 back together, its 87 yrs old and a bit beat to hell! need to order a generator for it. and would love to order mica for the 3 lanterns i have that should sport it!
dont get blinded by the light per say... there not all worth the astronomical prices that they can be on ebay...
on a another note, about a week ago i drive out to the malibu area and bought a coleman iron...
borrowed thee R55 Generator in it to get the L220 Slant going. generator might be dirty as the lantern pulses. might swap the generator back to the iron and see if it will light up tonight or tomorrow...or someday.
just now getting around to posting a mass of pictures......
Coleman Iron i picked up for 25 bucks out in the palisades, its a model 4A
the first plywood case i built i goofed on the measurements and come to find out it was 1.5" too big in the lantern bay.... so i built another one that was a little more form fitting.. the case is designed for a 228 size lantern and to make up for the space between the body of the lantern and the case i use a large bath towel, also can use a large bath towel to fit the smaller ones untill i can build a smaller one.
and a crappy inside picture haha. in the space above the lid over the fuel can my plan is to make a parts/ tools storage.
