just to bump back to the start. 2 Sundays ago i picked up a 3/69 Coleman 426D 3 burner stove for 11 bucks! guy wanted $25 so i was happy with my haggling skills.
oiled the pump, put in a new cap gasket and it ran great! going to pull it apart and spiff it up a bit someday, but it will be a user.
I don't have any pics right now, but i have my fathers old coleman stove, burn marks and all from a few bad starts in cold weather. A couple of years back i bought a second one at a yard sale. It looks like it was never used, still very shiny and in perfect shape. I fired it up once to make sure it worked, but I can't make myself use it for real, so I keep using the battered old workhorse.

Looks perfect for a big ol' pancake griddle, oiled by sausage grease! Mmmmmmm!
Yep, that three burner is just begging for a big ole feed. What works good is a big mess of sage sausage gravy in a cast iron, coffee, biscuits and /or hash browns.
Make sure some strong coffee gets rendered down with the gravy, a little bit of freeze-dried works ok for this too. Try it.
Some cooks like a little chicken flavor boullion too. I just use salt and pepper mostly and brown the flour good. If you really want fancy use some half and half for cream with the milk. Then make a mess of runny eggs, poached or fried, and let them drizzle over the hash browns and onion with a big heaping of that sausage gravy.
Splash the whole mess with some Tabasco, and a cold beer, and you gots breakfast! Sent from my iPhone using IB AutoGroup
