Hey Team, my '65 210A looks and works great. Mostly. For some reason the round nut that secures the mantle to the generator backs out and falls off. What's the fix? More torque? The expansion and contraction seems to do this no matter what.

is it a 200A? single mantle lantern?
post pictures, i cannot picture what your trying to say....
Yep that happens over time. Put some pipe dope on the threads to hold it or just order a new a new burner cap and new burner tube from OCP. Tube expander would work if you have one. Sorry I don't have a spare, else I'd send it your way. If you're on CCF below, you'll find many solutions to any 200a issue.
Okay, read the link and have some ideas. It's been a great lantern other than that. The wind knocked it over once camping in Utah and broke the globe. Found a hardware store in Hanksville or someplace like that with creaky wooden floors (the best kind) and they had one in stock.
Finally built a lantern case from my crude drawings! been talking about doing it for over a year... "don't wanna rush into it... might make a mistake" as dad always says.
40 bucks for a sheet of pine veneer plywood after i got some misc. hardware and nails for my 16ga gun i was into this one box for 120 dollars
Lucky i didn't do too bad of a hack job with a 4' level as strait edge and a skillsaw may drawings worked and i still have half a sheet left to build another box.
all i gots for now is cell phone pictures....
and yes i need to trim the screws sticking into the box from the handles.
