Yeah, those are only available used, so you'd have to refill them. I tried it, but with no luck. The rubber gets hard after 20 yrs and breaks easily.

Here's a few ideas: see post 96, 112, 126.

So, that's a "parts well", like the military models?

Do I then see a fill cap around on the far side?

Performance-checked all four of mine today. All are bright-burners without leaks. Although the ball-check leaks slightly on my 3-60 228E, it's solid as a rock when the pump valve is tightened.

The Dietz and Kirkman kero's are also completely operational, but that's beyond the scope of this thread.

I may do that, Justin.

I'll take it out and see if it's just a bit of leather hanging the ball or not.

I have a new check valve to install if that's the problem.

Picked up a Coleman 290 from Craigslist yesterday, listed as $35 or best offer with the red carry case in the background..... guy dint whine and moan when i offered $30....sigh i should of said 15 bucks....

came with a few extra mantles, and a bit of fuel in the fount. when i got over to my buddy's house i cleaned the globe and lit it right up! ran a little dim, so i cleaned the generator which was a pain in the ***. had to practically disassemble the whole lantern.

oh well here is a picture. its also dated 3/86 so is the case.

Functionally, how is that different from a 220?

Frosted globe and paint color?

has rubber neoprene pump cup, no cleaning lever, and the fuel valve is adjustable with the valve core inside. unlike the 220s where the valve is a needle and seat.

No cleaning lever?

So, one just has to replace the generator if the orifice gets clogged.........

What will they think of next?
