Performance-checked all four of mine today. All are bright-burners without leaks. Although the ball-check leaks slightly on my 3-60 228E, it's solid as a rock when the pump valve is tightened.

Picked up a Coleman 290 from Craigslist yesterday, listed as $35 or best offer with the red carry case in the background..... guy dint whine and moan when i offered $30....sigh i should of said 15 bucks....
came with a few extra mantles, and a bit of fuel in the fount. when i got over to my buddy's house i cleaned the globe and lit it right up! ran a little dim, so i cleaned the generator which was a pain in the ***. had to practically disassemble the whole lantern.
oh well here is a picture. its also dated 3/86 so is the case.
has rubber neoprene pump cup, no cleaning lever, and the fuel valve is adjustable with the valve core inside. unlike the 220s where the valve is a needle and seat.
