im sitting here drafting up a blueprint for a wooden carry case that will fit a 228 bighat and a gallon of fuel..... i figure for all the other sizes just roll the lantern into a large bath towel to make it nice in snug in the box.
hopefuly it comes out as good as my drawing and idea in my brain...... buut like most things i do it might not be that simple.
we shal see!!
since i only have a skill saw cutting strait edges will be the tricky part, lots of setup time with a strait edge and clamps. maybe enlist the help of my uncle....he has a table saw
Hey I got a question - the earlier Coleman's had a different kind of fuel filler cap than newer versions. I have a red 220 I think it is, from 65 that I picked up on eBay. Works great, but there is a screw in the cap. Sometimes in order to get a good seal and have it hold pump pressure ya gotta adjust it out while tightening. Why is it setup like that, what fer, etc, and can it be replaced with a solid cap? Thanks! (Neat pictures, btw)
Thanks! Yeah it works OK, it's just different I guess. Why did they set it up like that, what is the purpose? Any regular replacement cap at a hardware store would fit wouldn't it?
Ok. Now this is off topic, a bit - but has to do with Coleman stoves. While I prefer the old green classic type stoves, I found a neat butane Coleman Picnic stove that takes canisters that are no longer made? I think there was a "Hank Roberts" stove that took the same type of butane canister, that was a dead end too. Nobody makes them? Anybody sitting on a stash somewhere maybe? Thanks.
