picked up the 200A Christmas a few weeks ago, after trying to light it and a flame ball of fail it got a teardown and cleaning polish and a little wax.
also the first 200A i have had apart to clean up...
here is a few pictures, also got down my grandfathers 8/60 200A to run alongside it. did first start up on a coleman mantle.... while refueling i swapped in peerless 2C-HG's into both of them.

i got the traveling 228F all cleaned up and polished and put back together.... just need to replace the check valve(have yet to order the tool and screwed it up, oh well) tie some mantles on and run it to make sure its a runner.
ive got a 5 gallon bucket with a thread on lid that could be used for a case, a 6.5 gallon would be better.... but im half tempted to just send it on its way without...

I like the idea. I wonder if you could do the same with a wreck, everyone pitch in with parts, repair, paint, then give it away with a contest...

Well Work Sunday morning was a bust, only put in 2hrs.... but i got off just in time to hit a local swap meet!!!
scored a Coleman 275 a.k.a "Turd" for 5 dollars with some fuel in the tank.
piled up the pump and got the check valve broke loose with some carb cleaner, tied on a pair of crummy Coleman 21 mantles and lit it up... ran well!
a good cleaning, replace the schrader valve for good measure even though its working right now, new globe and a **** and i think ill be in business.

i don't know about bright...... looks a bit dim compared to my 200A running next to it right now. BUT! its untouched so its likely a little dirty somewhere. the genny was clean as a whistle, heck it did not look used very much.

time to drag this thread into 2014!!!!
took some pictures of my lantern project.
it is a hybrid lantern, its a 200A fuel valve, burner, frame, and vent on top of a 220E tank.
its got all the right markings to look like a 200A Christmas lantern, just this ones got hips lol.
i also added the 220 aluminum accessory safe and a sparky, the fuel gauge for the moment is temporary.

yup! since i got one of those now and the vent color is screwed upon this hybrid lantern im kicking the idea around to have the vent re colored to blue and paint the fount blue and slap a ford sticker on it
