Not that much goes wrong with them that a disassembly, good cleaning and sealing, lubricate needed areas. Reassemble, and enjoy. Takes minor tools
I enjoy taking a piece that's been abused to death, and bringing it back to life. Sometimes I even paint them and make them purdy.....

Plus you can get away from everyone, and zone out on a project. Get away from all the drama for a little bit

They don't take up a lot of room or scare the womenfolk & horses. Why not clean it up, flush the tank out with some fresh fuel, and keep it for possible electrical outages and the like, or camping, etc. They really come in handy at times.

I think you're my lost relative. Nothing like a garage or basement to fettle and enjoy some mellow tunes.

I just picked up a model 5120 from the local thrift shop. Didn't know what I was buying at the time but it's in great shape and the price was decent. I'm going to assume the propane cans are no longer available. It still has an empty propane can in it. Is it possible to refill the existing can?

I’ve never tried it, but I see those valves for sale. I guess I don’t run enough propane to go for it.

Thx for the warning.

I bought a custom adapter for the 5120 a few years back, it works great.
