One last decent day until the cold stuff gets here. I'm gonna do some more tinkering with the dent. I need to straighten the fuel lines out and get some other stuff done.
Nice, Ches! You gonna put a steel line from there to the caliper? Reminds me of a HMMWV. Steel line right to the caliper makes brake pad changes interesting. Not impossible, but interesting.
I have some extra time today. I wanted to get outside early and get something done today, but it's Tiff's day off. I was warned NOT to wake her up before 0900! I guess I'll relax a bit before I head out to the garage.
Alan, you're at quite an impasse, the wife's off work and you have outside stuff that needs to get done before it gets crappy. Maybe you can get a little time with her at some point.
I redid the battery tray for the convertible last night and installed the new ground cable, did the positive cable Monday evening. Now it starts right up but the top switch decided it doesn't want to work both directions, maybe this weekend I can get Patty's help for a few minutes to diagnose it.
Tonight after work back on the 68 coupe, might get the rust removed from the roof, wishful thinking. I'll probably just get the six rust spots on the "inner fenders/shock towers" cut out and new metal welded in.
CJ decided to pull his 90 Shivalay in and put the 68 coupe outside so he could change the engine in his truck, engines are swapped and the Mustang was still outside when I got ready to leave for work, woke him up and made him help me jockey them around so the client vehicle with bare metal is back indoors before the rain starts.
Same here Terry..... Nothing going on, just checking in. I have some errands to get in this morning. Some work to do in the stepdaughters old bedroom. Currently my guitar room in the works. Got me a nice entertainment center yesterday off of "The List". Had to take it apart in the truck bed, son, everybody disapeared on me. Do it's in pieces in the garage. A dresser to get out of that room, then I can bring up the entertainment center, and re-assemble!
Looks like it will be cold and nasty tomorrow, so this fat boy will be in the house for the day. The cold/damp weather just about leaves me on the couch anyway. Goes right to my back, and hip, "I'm too you to feel this d@mn old"!
I forgot, I also replaced the door check on a 2005 Trailblazer last night. Patty's aunt couldn't close her driver door without manipulating the door check bar. now it's all good to go. It stunned her to see her door all apart and that I was able to get it back together with everything working. Now to see if her daughter or husband will come up with some NASCAR tickets, they both work for Rick Hendrick, he's in charge of chassis R&D, daughter's in marketing. Aunt Judy won't leave Missouri so Randy and Dawn come back any chance they get.
I got a bunch of work done on the dent today. I wanted to get it done so I didn't have to work on it tomorrow in the cold.
Today I got done......
-Re-did the fuel lines. (had a by-passed diverter valve for an extra tank that's not there anymore. The fuel lines were in fact VACUUM line)
-Dyed the tan door panels and sun visors
-installed door panels and sun visors
-installed rear view mirror
-Trans service
-Valve cover gaskets
-oil pressure sender
-exhaust manifold gaskets
-welded hole in exhaust
-fixed dash lights
-fixed broken dash
-fixed a few broken vacuum lines
-removed leaking trailer brake controller
Then after lunch..................
No just kidding. That took me all friggin' day. I also got the Bravada engine unloaded and put up until Friday. The tent is tied down so it doesn't blow away, The dog is in the garage with fresh food and water and I'm inside and warm. ....just dirty. I'm gonna go get a shower. I'm beat!
