I hope that this finds you well and that your holidays were great! I’m getting back to work on my 1957 F600, VIN F60L7K20322. The current job is to replace the brake master cylinder. The truck has a 10 inch Hi-power booster and I’m not sure if it is supposed to have a 1 1/4 inch bore or a 1 1/2 inch bore for its master cylinder. My local CarQuest parts store came up with part number MCA22976 for the 1 1/4 inch replacement or MCA22977 for the 1 1/2 inch. Do your catalogs cross reference to either of these numbers? Which would be correct for this truck? Any input will be greatly appreciated, as always...!

Reason: clarification
No Ford parts catalog cross reference for aftermarket parts. Plus, the 1957/60 Ford truck parts catalog final printing occurred in 1970. Was Car Quest in business back then?
1957/60 F500/600:
C1TZ-2140-D .. Brake Master Cylinder 1 1/4" bore - Use with 10" diameter brake booster / Obsolete
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1957/60 F600/850:
C1TZ-2140-C .. Brake Master Cylinder 1 1/2" bore - Use with 12.75" diameter brake booster / Obsolete
Great! Thanks, Bill! That should be the info that I needed! I’m not sure when CarQuest came about. I may take your Ford numbers to good ol’ NAPA and see what they come up with!

Make sure the parts cluck looks in the paper parts catalogs, usually stashed under the counter. I doubt these elderly part numbers will be listed on their computer.
Have you ever visited Early Ford Store in San Dimas?
Will do! Yes, The Early Ford Store is one of my favorite places!! A good friend of mine has a ‘29 Model A pickup and a (real) ‘32 roadster! We make pilgrimages over to San Dimas every month or so!
I have a 1967 Ford f600 6 cylinder, Np435 trans with a rockwell 2 speed rear. It shows 12k gvw on the title. Tires are 7.50 x 20. It was a base model short wheel base truck
There is no axle tag whatsoever
Can you determine from the vin and description what the rear axle might be and what ratio came in the 6 cylinder trucks
I would potentially like to use this rear end in a 4 x 4 conversion .. I want to see if one of the ratios, over or direct.. can match any of the ratios I can get for the FDS-75 front end I have sitting in my shop... its a 6.17 detroit locker.. and Im aware Ill have to change ratio to match the rear
The VIN is F60BRB16195
Im starting a new build..I sold my 1973 F600 restored shop truck
This is the start..later model supercab
frame is ready for 4 x 4 conversion
1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog, 1964/69 rear axle applications (text section 40.2, page 2). F600: There's no Rockwell 2 speed listed, only a single speed.
There is a 2 speed Rockwell listed for F700's. See pic below:
btw: I read something here on FTE that you were divesting yourself of all your trucks and parts and moving. I don't recall where, but it was away from CA

What is the AXLE code stamped on the Warranty Plate? If there isn't one and the DSO code has 6 digits, it was a Domestic Special Order.
I was worried about you, several friends who were LAPD motor officers (they were usually assigned to film/TV shoots), retired to Paradise.
I know you don't live there, but you do live in the area. Paradise became Hades in the recent fire.
Hello All, I’m working on a 69 N850 with manual steering. There’s a rubber dust cover around the slip joint in the steering column just above the gear box. I’m looking for a new one, the original one is shredded. I would like to know the part number and if it is available anywhere.
Thanks, Bill

Look at 3D510 in pic (click on it twice to enlarge it). If this is what you want:
No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any, none on ebay.
Yes, that is what I’m looking for. Thanks for checking and thanks for the diagram. I will hafta make something. C3TZ-3D510-A
