Go ahead and buy it Brian, BUT we're gonna pull that one down and put a NEW oil pump, pick up, timing chain bearings, rings and gaskets in it. I'm only doing this ONE MORE TIME! Summit has complete kits for cheap. Like $250 or so for the 4.3L. Check 'em out.
Coffee should be done brewing by now. I gotta take the little one to Granny's house today. She came home sick yesterday and isn't better yet. She has some kind of stomach bug apparently. I have to pull the heads off a Dodge Durango today and see if I can save that one. It has a BIG coolant leak into the cylinders. Nice truck otherwise. The only thing I don't like about it is it's an '02 with the 4.7L V-8.
well another day another dollar ....-25 cents for fed tax -15 cents state tax -10 cents county tax -30 cents for gas to get to work -20 cents electricty used.. well it wont cost me nothing to work today at least....unless i get all high class and want to eat a meal or something............good morning missouri..
Like I've said for years (and also why I had a hotrod shop and not general repair shop) I don't mind building toys, I enjoy it in fact, but I HATE working on cars!
At least when I rebuild engines, I can fool myself into thinking I'm building something fun. The work is the same, just not usually as many cylinders to hone.
Thanks Rich, part of the agreement with the prior owner , his son and his grandson is I'll restore it..sort of. I like the color but I will probably modify it a bit with more fine metallic, not bass boat style though. I'll definitely be rocking the slots til I can no longer find aggressive tires for 16.5 rims. I can't wait to get it so I can drive it.
i am lucky..i dont really have to work on customers cars..but several old customers have become more like friends and that is where the snag is.. you hate to work on these newer cars but feel almost obligated..i keep telling folks i dont work on things built after 1970..but that dont always work out so good...and dont get me started on family!!!!! ha ha ha ha ha

Ain't that the truth. Family will wear you slick as if you owe them.
brian for 50.00 (and the engine runs good) maybe just get that engine stick in it for now just to get a second truck running that you seem to really need at this time....then take the other 2 and rebuild one right..where you can take your time and make no mistakes or take shortcuts because of "lack-a-funds" syndrome that you install when you have the time..dont you start a new job soon
well the rain started again..... i had some outside work to do but i guess that is off now...so its back to inside the shop work and do what i can for now i guess...maybe get some brake, power steering and fuel lines run on the caddy..
