even a painless harness wont fix a bad light socket, bad circuit board, wire or plug in the dash. a short in the turn signal switch or steering column wires..those are nice harness's and i have used them in 4 different custom cars..but usually i just build my own wiring harness's from stuff i get from late model wrecked cars because painless dont have what i need
Well got a deal I just could not pass up on, its a possible Bronco replacement eng out of a 94 F150. Its a 302 EFI engine with all the wiring, computer, fuel pump ect......
NO trans, but got the clutch, steering column, radiator and flex fan. Also the whole dash wiring harness, not that the bronco needs one but a EFI swap might be in the future.
No carb issues to contend with, and works on off camber angles. Unless someone is in the market for a eng, it has 147,000 miles on it.
It looks like I'm the only one getting some wrench time this weekend. I pulled the van into my friend's garage and 6 hours later backed it out with 4 new ball joints installed. The left side was shot - mainly because whoever installed them didn't grease them afterwards. Right side wasn't bad, but the lower joint was very loose in its socket, so it wouldn't have been long before it went too. Everything else up front looked good and tight so I'm hoping I'm all set for a while.
I hope everyone stays warm and dry this weekend - it looks like Winter is taking one last swing at us.
If I were you I would look very closely at your grounds. If you have a poor ground it can cause heat,(resistance) which will cause a fuse to blow.
If your bulbs are all the same and the correct one's, and one side is flashing faster than the other side then you have less current draw on that side to heat the flasher to make it cycle. That can be caused by a bad ground on one of those two lights on that side. You possible have a bare wire someplace causing the fuse to randomly blow, but also likely have a bad ground.
Just my opinion

Will give all the grounds another look they seemed to be good to me but i may have missed something. I'm also gonna try to find a cheap trans jack and try to get my trans dropped and new clutch on. Think the oreillys machine shop would frown on me doing it in their parking lot so i can just run my flywheel in have them turn it instead of having to buy a new one lol. Actually a new one probably wouldn't be a bad idea with it being even worse then it is now for god knows how long when the po had it.

What trans do you have? The T18 has a nice hum on the bottom that fits great in a floor jack cup! there is really not much to the clutch job! and its way easy if you take out the floor.
Well its cold out, but at least it quite raining. I really did not get much of anything done yesterday. I want the warm weather back so I can get busy outside.
hey rich...when do you go back to work? i kind if wanted to get up there to meet you..or if you have time come on down here and give me some tips on getting some of my projects together..ha ha ha .

Well looks like I am in the chute to go back to Lithuania around the 2nd April for ??? Hopefully only for like 3 weeks, but it looks like we have 5 helos to insp. And 2 of them are in St Petersburg Russia??
It will be time for a G2G when I get back, I really want to get started on Penny's project. After we take the Bronco to SMORR, maybe a G2G there?
I think if I have a "all hands" BBQ/G2G at my place and get a group on it, it could be started for the most part, kinda like monster garage?
