Like I said, there's not much difference between the two. If you look close, the 3-bay box is the same on the left side as my current box, but it just has the 6 extra drawers on the left and the hutch.
I don't think i'm gonna buy it, though. It would just be another bill that I really don't need. I could take the $30/week to buy it and really put some money into my '90, but that won't happen either.
Yeah, I've used mine for the last 7 years(-about 4 months) for 40hours/week, 50 weeks/year. That's alot of use. I've never had a drawer slide come apart and they still open and close as easy as the day I bought them. With tool boxes, I think you're buying the slides for the drawers more than anything else.
Ok, just did some quick math, that's about 14,000 hours worth of use come about July.
I understand, took the 5 year plan to pay off the Snap On. Terry it's hard to spend that kind of money, but when your using it for a living (tax deductable) it wasn't so bad. Just figure on losing a few grand if you sell it. NOT a fan of that either. It's paid for now, and It's an awsum box. Almost 900 pounds empty, and I'd like to see what is weighs full of goodies.
Ready for tomorrow, gonna get a pot of coffee down the neck. And mother nature should be greeting me outside with some weather we haven't seen in a few days. Gonna get on the trucks, well I'll have to take Ka'Bluey for another ride before it's taken apart.

Holy cow.
If you're earning your living with them, I can see justifying the cost. The company I work for provides the tools that I use there...I just have a bit more then your average at home shade tree mechanic...and cheapy tool boxes work fine for me.

Now I'm confused...bear with me...if you got to write the entire thing off, then you now own a very expensive tool box that you got for free, don't you?
Yeah, when I started I had a 2-piece Craftsman box set and it was fine for when all I was doing was changing oil and going to school. Once I got out and was working on my own, I could tell right away that I needed 1: more room and 2: better drawers.
A couple guys at work still have older boxes that don't have very good slides and I'm amazed that they don't end up tipping over because they only open and close drawers once a day. Open in the morning, close after putting everything away at quitting time.
No Terry, we don't write the whole thing off, we just get to take it as a tax deduction. Basically, we don't have to pay income tax on the amount of the box, or the tools in the box. Like interest on a house.
I have no freakin luck with lights apparently. Just went out to make a quick little soda run fired it up pulled the headlights on and bam both low beams blew at the same damn time. WTF grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
