We went out this morning, and located Miss Pamela's new job...stopped at costco and stocked up a bit...dropped $100....sheesh.
Now I'm home for a few hours before job b.
I did fire up the truck and both lawnmowers...letting them idle so they don't die...
Pretty day out there today.
Hey Big Boss Man, thanks for telling me. Now I know where our weather went. 65° & sunshine yesterday. Started getting dark around 4:30, next thing I know, CRASH, BANG, BOOM. Thunder & lightning like crazy. Poured rain. Now we've got 35° & cloudy today.
Woo Hoo! We went up to Altec computer store and got a new 17" monitor for my desk top computer. I then used the old monitor to replace the old laptop's broken monitor. (like a redneck desk top) Then we bought a second laptop for the Mrs to use. Now the girls, the wife and I have a computer to use so I don't have to hear three young girls whine how long it's been since they used the computer.
Funny, I don't remember having these problems when I grew up.
I have 2 engine stands and a cherry picker. I won't be needing any of them til summer when it warm out. That's when I'll pull the engine out of my Jeep and swap in the other one.
I figured out the noise I had. it was my u-joint. it had one bone dry rust dust cup. I ended up changing it out when I got back from Forsyth.
I bought 4 stock aluminum wheels for 100.00. last week the guy wanted 145.00.
today I spent somewhere around 250.00. I bought the wheels, all new lug nuts for them. the rear shocks, a new u-joint, rear tranny seal and a mini grease gun. since i have no idea where any of my grease guns are.
I made a bit of money today though. doin ga some side work for a friend of a friend. so that offset the spenditures just a bit.
Oh back to what I was saying. I had gone to Oreillys to get a tail shaft seal with a dust boot. They had to order it. I wanted it now so I could change it while I had the drive shaft out.
They ordered the wrong one, but here's the kick in the butt. The one I needed was in stock. Now I have to pull my driveshaft agian so I can put the seal in.
I hope it warm out tomorrow so I can do my springs and shocks.
I'm shooting for next Saturday, to get my new tires, or else it'll be too late and the price goes up on the 15th.
Well sounds like life is good for all, and me too since I get to finally come home thursday. Not to sure on how long I'm home, but the plan is to wrench on the Bronco and get a SMORR day on the schedule, FTE mini G2G anyone?
Good afternoon from across the pond, its 3:35 PM here and I'm enjoying my one day off a week. Back at it tomorrow, but heading home (stateside) thursday.
hey cerp..that engine is not a 88..its from a 94..with 88,000 miles on it...i should be in springfield either mon. or tue. but will have a full truck, i wont have the room to carry the hoist or engine, i seen 2fords in nixa has one that he wont be needing right back you need to call him. shoot me a call and we can get things arranged...need to talk to some late model chevy experts to find out if the swap would work
Hey, W.R., I got Cerp covered on the hoist. I'm gonna help him stab the new engine, so I'll just bring my little hoist with me. If you could find a way to get the engine even close to him, we could work it out from there.
Good morning everyone! ....I just LOVE my new 17" monitor! It's sitting in front of a big screen TV while I'm on the computer.

Well, I'll confess that I didn't spend much money, but I DID get to drive the truck about 20 miles today.
Mrs. and the little one were at the Great Whale (Goodwill) the other day, and spotted a largish desk for $20, and came home and told me how much I REALLY wanted it.
So...checked the oil, fired it up...had to let it warm up for awhile, then drove around to the front of the house to air up the tires...they were all at 20ish pounds after sitting still all winter, then actually put the truck on the streets. Sweet.
Bought my desk, drove the truck a bit further into Bonner Springs as my boss at job B has been bugging me to take a look at my truck...then drove it home...
Then, of course, we discovered that the new larger desk would not fit in the same hole that we had the smaller desk in, so we spent two or three hours playing musical furniture in our bedroom.
The good news is that the desktop and all of its peripherals made the trip across the bedroom and have been reinstalled, and everything works!
(and I now have enough room on my desk for my keyboard, mouse, telephone, AND room to write...woohoo!)
I do have to work for a couple three and a half hours tonight, but so far, it's been a lovely and successful day.
Wow - you miss a day on here and there's pages of stuff to catch up on.
Its been a rough weekend here. Our eldest dog passed away Friday night - she held on long enough for the wife to get home to say good-bye before leaving us. Needless to say, I didn't get much of a start on the bathroom until Saturday evening. Today I got the old tub and fixtures out, mapped out where the drain needs to be for the new shower, and knocked out a bit of the concrete around the existing drain. This week I plan on starting to pull the vanity and the connected cabinets out. Friday will be spent prepping the camper for the first trip of the year this weekend - going fishing out at Montauk State Park.
