So Brian you need a passenger side glass for a 79 Ford right. I have 2 sets of doors, should I put a passenger one in the back of mine when I head that way?
There was a right and left door glass from my 77 in that stuff I gave you!
Yeah, it feels great to finally make some headway.
Check this out. My bosses are awesome. I asked if I could use the shop to do my body swap on the Ford. They said, "Yeah, Sure! If you want to just come in and do your stuff for a couple days, that's ok, too."
Jeff even cleared a spot in the shop for my truck to go while I'm working on it.
....I love my job. These guys are great! I'm pretty sure I can borrow the trailer to bring the chassis to the shop too. (which is also in Ozark) I just have to bring Big Bertha to the shop so I can lift the body off the frame. That's my abnormally large engine hoist I reserve for diesel engines and big blocks.
WOW ya'll have had a busy day..all i got done was just about got the front sheet metal cut out of a 65 econoline for a guy in Connecticut..but did get the trim and hood latch from a 49 ford pickup for a guy in texas and a z-bar and linkage and a few small parts from a 61 galaxie for a guy in tenn...so made a few pennies today..
brian not having brake lights throws a different light on your short..if you have turn signals on the rear and no brake lights..it leads to the brake light switch or the turn signal switch..you need to check the wire from the b-switch to the t-switch for power when the brakes are applied...the t-signal switch is a expensive and hard to replace part on just a guess.. i would be certain before i replaced it.. but that is just me
brian when rich brings you the puller..remove the wheel and give the switch a visual inspection..check the rivet that holds it together to be sure its tight..those switches are repairable if not completely trashed..but a short in it is unusual if it is still together tight..if the short is in that area most likely a bare wire of some sort on the wires going down the column to the "plug" .if you do remove the switch make a diagram of the wire location's in the plug then remove the wires from the plug.. tape a long wire to the harness and pull through the column. repair or replace the switch, use the wire to pull the harness back through the column and install wires back in the plug.. at least thats the way i do it...but i could be wrong
lol i thought i was already owing you big time for whenever your ready to get rid of the bronc...if you got one handy then sure why not but i dont what you to have to bother going digging for it. On my mirriors it might actually just be easier to replace the whole dang mount mirror and all.
brian if rich dont have the door glass there are some in this 74 i have in the front yard you are welcome to it........ did you get your clutch put in..its not a hard job to do yourself with a couple of jack stands and a pipe and chain inside the truck cab to hold it up while you change the clutch..just use your floor jack on the tranfer case rear output..i should of thought and brought you one of my cut off input shafts to line it up..but you can eyeball it close with a stick then get the trans started in the disc, install a couple of longer bolts "just snug" push in the clutch and wiggle till it goes into the pilot bushing....
I have a spare door w/glass and a spare TS sw still in a column, you just get the switch not the rest, its needed for a "project" with out the need for turning signals.
Have a complete spare mirror, not to sure what side, but you can make it fit. If its early I will put it all by the chebby.
