bob if you get bored and tired of trying to break your mounts loose and still want to help with the short issues i am having give me a call or stop by i should be here all day i believe.
ha i'm a idiot sometimes...brake lights were out because i pulled the fuse from them without knowing it and used it as a turn signal fuse and put the burnt fuse back in it and forgot all about it. So power to the switch had one brake light on went to pull the bulb to check it and the dang bulb seperated on me put the one new bulb i had in it to test and it didn't work went to take it out and it did the same thing...pulled the bulb from the other socket to try to test it in that socket to make sure the bulb wasn't damaged and i just didn't know it and it did the same damn thing again....looks like i am going to have to hit oriellys for some bulbs and maybe i should replace the sockets while i am at it. looks like somone replaced the passenger side brake light socket already (the one that wasn't working when i had good bulbs) and 1 of the 3 wires had fallen out of it and was kind of bouncing around so maybe that was my short.
thats true brian..bare wires bouncing around are never a good idea. what color was the wire that fell out..black is ground brown is park lights green or yellow is turn/brake lights...would be a good place to start your repairs..while you are there give the rest of the wires, sockets and connection plugs a good eyeballing
with that many bulbs breaking like that..are you sure you are turning far enough before pulling out and in the right direction and the offset studs are in right grooves..just a thought
Not sure if any of you guys might have a use for it, but I am gonna haul a 84 cab to the crusher pretty shortly. The front end is out and also the bed. none in good shape. Buddy bought it and wanted me to make him a trailer and he had another good bed so I cut the frame about mid cab.
Larry
lol if you came and fixed it for me so i dont have to then that would stop me from saying BLINKER. I drove that dang thing to springfield and then across town for my drug test for work then home and the fuse didn't blow till i was pulling in my drive way. Fixed my brake lights put in a new signal fuse and it blew pulling out of the parking lot of oriellys as i was leaving. Its completely random and sometimes it will blow them back to back as soon as i put a new one in. I hate wireing...why can't it be like my bike was i think i had maybe 5 or 6 wires all together on it.
Brian, if I got out there, and so help me..... And You say "That word" I'll leave so help me I will! Everybody has one little thing that bothers them. Mine is without a doubt THAT word.
Congrats on the job situation. They are hard to get right now.
I know an older guy (older than me even) that heard a so called mechanic call a push rod, and "Push Tube". He came un-wound.
So lets see what one word bothers us. You all know mine. Chime in!!!!!
Alan good to see you again this afternoon. Hopefully you'll see a difference in Ka'Bluey pretty soon.
Y'all have a good one, I'm gonna feed my neck!
Unk Bob
I'm neurotic, I have lots of things that get under my skin.
There they're and their. USE THE CORRECT ONE!
There-it's a place, like over there!
Their-possessive. It belongs to them, so it's THEIRS!
They're- Simple, it's short for THEY ARE!
To, too and Two. Again, use the correct one!
To-conjunction. To get something done or get from here TO there
Too- Can be used in place of ALSO. "We went there, too"
Two- It's a number, it comes after one.
Flexplates go on automatic cars. Flywheels go on stick cars.
A MOTOR is an electrical device that converts electricity into kinetic energy.
An ENGINE has lots of internal explosions to move pistons up and down to turn a crankshaft.
And a sure way to get me to come apart at the seams in one second flat.....
If a vehicle stops running, or starts running poorly IT'S PROBABLY NOT THE TIMING!!!!!!!
Something is not running right and some moron will want to immediately spin the dang distributor. Leave it alone and troubleshoot the problem, slap nuts!
