yeah, till the PS went.
Glad "HbB" was available...is it twice as able as the "Red One"?
No advantage? 1/2 as betterer? 4X? It seems the power-to-weight, open (actually No) fenders, etc would B an advantage...?

That is not sand, it is a chat pile, the place use to be a rock quarry.

Red has a rear spool and front locker, the HbB is stock/open diffs. Each has its bonuses in their design.

What a pain to locate the correct p/s box seals...Ford dealership is getting them. All the auto parts stores have the wrong dimension seals.

Ok FINALLY got some seals that match what came out. Had a very diligent Auto Zone employee run the #'s that were on the old seals and located some from Duralast parts # PSK1. Got 2 seals (one double lip, one single) the 2 spacer washers and another snap ring.

Yes Duralast PSK1 for a 4x4x2 (1979 4wd F150) converted (reverse steer modded) and mounted outside the frame power steering box.

Made me a seal driver tool from some 1 1/4 PVC (no damage to the chrome/metal sector shaft that way) so we shall see if it fits over the sector shaft and drives that seal home.

The parts store loaner seal driver kits are all metal ones.

Cracked housing steering box off after a little inner fenderwell mod. Going to remove the rest on both sides anyway and replace with expanded metal. That should help with getting some header heat out of the engine compartment. It sure made for an easy removal.

I got lucky and found a used but usable 76/77 p/s steering box for cheap and my cracked box's guts are going into it. I am going to better brace the new box/frame rails.

Ok so the new/used box is back and ready to go in. I am doing some p/s box brace fab work 1st. Converted my old cracked p/s box cap bolts to studs. Made me a pattern, then made the 1st part of the brace. Figured out it was to thin, so upped the material thickness. Almost figured it out, just have to get some more material for the 2nd part and go from there.

I plan on adding another piece that will come down the inside of the frame and bolt on with the p/s box mount hdwr. It will be welded and T braced at the joint. More pics to follow.

some of those mods (in ur pic) seem over the top.
Are extreme measures needed due to mounting on the outside of the frame
or
just standard measures for 'rough stuff'?
