I had a Holley 4 barrel on my Jeep. It sucked off-road until I put baffles on the float vents. That pretty much kept the fuel from sloshing up the vent tubes and flooding it out. On the Holley you did that by taking the float bowls off. It was pretty obvious when you had the baffles in your hand where they went.
On my Bronco I'm running the stock Autolite 2 barrel. It's great off-road! Never any stumbles. The only issues are that it tends to flood when it hot-soaks, so hot restarts on a hill require one foot on the clutch, one on the brake and the other on the gas. Fortunately I have a hand throttle so I can use my hand as a third foot.
The carb also is a little balky during warm-up (manual choke), but that's not much of an issue off-roading.
I would like to go to EFI at some point, but the carb works so well (other than hot and cold starts) that EFI isn't very high on the (long) list.

Thanks for the input on the carb, I need to go to the Autolight 2 bbl or a Rochester quadrajet (I have read that that is the go-to off road carb and still have a 4bbl).
Today there was an article on this forum elsewhere about the fact that they're almost guaranteed to NOT do a 2-door version.
It's sounding like it'll be a one-trick pony and be 4-doors only.
But as we've seen... Things have a way of changing as they go a long.

I am having to get a new B&M shifter cable....snapped it on Sunday 3" from the end near the trans...
Trying this one. 5-FT Shifter Cable, Race-Super Duty - B&M Transmissions, Shifters, Torque Converters, Diff Covers, Coolers
It's always something.

Well been reworking my B&M floor shifter (broken .250 OD cable at the end of the days wheeling). I now have a proper C-4 trans cable mount bracket and a Race Super Duty .350 OD shifting cable.
Been cutting a bit of the trans hump/floor pan out and a piece of the underside cross member doubler, to get the cable the best and straightest angle out the back of the shifter bracket.

auto shift cable (not TV)
All I can remember is some use the Art Carr (whole system: boot, shifter, cable...). Can't vouch for it as all I remember is the name.
Good Luck,
let us know how U do~

Art Carr-Winters shifter is a gated shifter and are normally a flush mounted application or make a riser...And a way to much $ for me anyway.
I like this set up also. Product Detail - Performance Bodies Stock Car Bodies & Parts

I appreciate the feedback on the Art Carr shifter, but I feel that the gates would/could cause me problems when trying to shift.
I do not like the B&M Z gate for the same reason.
