I had some more jack to go, but the angle of the jack was starting to worry me. I really need to get a different base for it. I am going to make one similar to the Alian one, I just want one to give me more lean angle in all 4 directions.

The farm jack tongue needs to be moded to grip in the end of the tube better, or I need to come up with a way to secure it in there.

The baja mount is off, but not in the scrap pile, and its to heavy to mail. lol

farm jack to receiver adaptor

I wonder if U can make up a lil "adapter" that holds the toung on 1 side and the square receiver on the other. At worse U could make each side (end) & then weld them back to back. I wuz thinkin bout 4 inches long? (Just enuff on the receiver end to slide in the lockin/holdin pin, enough on the jack end to locate the toung…
Now ya got ur own marketing project.

Fun project, definatly not ford, eh?

I am sure my welder mod guy can improve on any idea I come up with. I have a little more welding to do so I am sure he can fab up a better base (similar to the Alian one) and come up with a way to lock in the jack tongue via a pin-able (on both the jack and the receiver part) adapter.

There is a mess of adapters out there (free ideas). https://www.google.com/search?q=farm...FPQ8APSOU6TPM:

reece hitch / farm jack 'adapter'

Many of those google pic 'adapters' i'd seen B4 some not. The foot pads were all familiar. Thanks 4 da links!
The tung end of the adaptor could angle a few degrees up past horizontal, even have ridges in it for the corresponding ridges to grab, B shaped the same in 3D perspective...
I digress.

I think a pin/lock onto the jack tongue adapter with some top side "teeth" to grip in the receiver is a possible route?

Work in progress....

that's it, a pin both sides…
then the angle would never matter

That is what I am thinking as far as a 2 pin set up. But as far as the 2nd statement, it would to a certain degree...but I think a workable/usuable adapter could be made.

At least for now I can hang a winch, put a step in for the wife and high lift to some degree.

I have lots of other Bronco projects to work on, so all in due time.

New oil pan leak. So ok engine experts...what makes a big "outie dent" in a oil pan? Is it ok to have a broken piston skirt, if the cylinder is sleeved and you can NOT find the piece that broke out?

Never heard a noise, still has good oil pressure, dent might be old. Like before I bought it/PO days.

Pan was clean and free of chunks or glitter. I think the dent was old and just now started to leak thru a very very small dent that became a crack over time in the pan at the top edge.

I dug, felt, looked and ran a magnet all over the underside for that chunk, no luck locating it.

New pan, new one piece gasket, done.

Took the w/s wiper motor/arms and studs off. (NO w/s) no need for w/s wipers right? Studs went thru the windshield frame, so I had 2 holes in it. I though easy place to mount some square LED lights and use the existing holes, wiring and switch to run them. Now putting some round LED lights in place of the headlights. I got the Toms Broncos Parts upgrades harness. https://www.tomsbroncoparts.com/prod...ord-bronco-new Plug play easy and worth it for sure.

CB mounted, surprise in the glove box to be mounted (it needs its own speaker) . New curved rear view mirror mounted. Carb regulator is on and working nicely. Rock sliders still not painted...Hard wire the winch q/d cables, hard mount the high lift jack and fire ext next. Trying to get it ready for an end of the month SMORR run.

SMORR ? Southern Missouri Off Road Ranch

Got one 2150 lumens LED light mounted where the headlight is suppose to go tonight. One more tomorrow and a square 4 led back up light.

Ok so BOTH headlights have been swapped out for round LED AG work lights.
I got the Toms Bronco Parts wiring harness with 2 relays/fuses and a relay that keeps both high and low beam on at the same time. Plug and play for sure.

I need to raise the shine angle up bit on the headlights, but when on with the head light frame top square LED's (on at the same time I am good to go IMO.

I think I have to much hood glare... so I might relocate the w/s frame ones to the grill.

That last shot (#9?) shows what appears 2B a new "headlght bucket"? for (several? H4s) the install? I guess that would need 2B included when goin from OE to the new capsule style?

Usin the orig wiper openings wuz a great "testing" choice! Did you adjust the housing up to see if the 'hood glair" diminished satisfactorily? Did you decide to remove them to the grill or other location?
EDIT:
may B 2 early - I now C the post is frm this morning

Get in any July 4th wheelin?

No new headlight buckets, just fresh flat black paint to cover the mix match of old looking original white, then some red over spray and some faded black and then rust.

Looking at the rest of it, I do not know why I bothered...lol.

The w/s frame lights are adjusted/set up and out as far as possible, that is why I am going to relocate. I like how well they light up the area, but I do NOT like the hood glare. I might move them to the far outer edge of the w/s frame. Just have to drill the holes.

After I got the headlights in I took it for a late night gravel back road test drive. Did not need to lock it in, so no real four wheeling.

I am working on it to make ir ready for a end of July SMORR weekend run. Pic will follow.
