I am figuring it all out, a little at a time. I am also trying to work on it not knowing what all mods have been done, and yes it is the red one.

Still working on the knuckle insert..and the broken steering limit bolt. The bushing from Ruffstuff is too short once installed and the top collar bottoms out. The 2nd pic is the old longer one that does not have a top collar ring anymore, and the threads are shot.

I am juggling projects at the moment.

Well took a break on the knuckle stuff and converted it to electronic ignition. New distributor and a Dura spark II module. Then gave it a tune up, plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor, starts up like a champ.

"...distributor and a Dura spark II…"
some use the
ford box w/the blue strain relief grommet
others use
the MSD box (1 is digital, 1 is not).
Let us know how it goes (I'm more familiar w/the 6 six cyl. engines but the DSII is a durable, simple, hopped up improvement all should look at for their ford. I like it better than DUI, Petronix, HEI, TIF, etc.).

The deal I got on the distributor was it came with a blue grommet one. Plus I have a few others...

Borrowed a 7/8 drill bit, go the knuckle drilled, and that side is all back together+ the steering limit bolt. Then did a bearing insp, hub repack and retorque on the dvrs side.

Took it for a test drive, ran great down the road, then got to miss firing/backfire and bucking and snorting like a dirty ol bronc does at times.

Guess the conversion to electronic ignition and the tune up is not what it wanted....its always something.

Well got some new Craigslist tires... like brand new 16x38.5x15 Super Swamper's. I might have to get the cutoff wheel/sawzall to the fenders after a "flex and stuff" ck.

They might get a fast lap on the tube buggy Bronco too?

I think I will use my Allied rock-a-thons for them?
