You think the difference in the rubber bumper location might be associated with build dates? I know I had to trim mine back to keep it from interfering, interesting that others didn't. Maybe theirs were smaller or just located lower on the wall.
Mine squeaks a bit, may have to add some oil or a bit of grease.
Give the white lithium a try. I put it on mine and it stopped the squeak immediately. It also has the straw like WD-40 so that you can spray it in just the right place. Then it sets up like normal grease.
The O'Reilly $19.95 sale is over as of 5/24/11. The local store still had the sale sign on the EZDown today 5/25/11. They had to honor the sale price so I got a SG304901EZ at $20. Now priced at $29.95. If the storms end tomorrow I'll install it. There was one '02EZ (old style) on the rack.

I tried to pick one up last Sunday, but they had to order it. Didn't call me, I called them Tuesday.. yep got it, will save at my register.. went in last night, they had put it back on the floor (were did customer service go, really).. still there..
and the sale prices (expires 5/24) were still posted.. they honored the price as they pulled all the sale price tags.. and noted 'outdated sales label' for the price change cause.
installed this morning.. not really a problem, the bolt for the bracket wasn't supplied.. I had one so not a biggie.. works great on my 08 step tailgate.
Installed my today and works great. Doesn't hit the bumper and goes down real slow. I used the kit for Ford SuperDuty 2006. I did have to oblong the hole in the tailgate to line up with the bracket hole but it works fine.
What capt Caper said. Finally after the third one. I did not have to trim or remove the bumper, mine sits in slotted holes, so I pushed it forward (towards the cab) and it does not interfere with the large shock at all.
This is such a long thread, but I understand there is a new one and and old one? Maybe a wrong one and a right one? Can anybody please post the site where I can get the right one for my 2011 350?
1998-2006 F250,F350 #SG304901EZ works with a few minute modification and is redily available with the big shock.

Thanks, Jim
O'Reilly has the best price. If you go in you may still get the sale price of $19.99 if not it will be $29.99. Get the above part# and oblong the hole in the bracket to line up with the hole in your tailgate then follow the directions.
