EZ Down tailgate assist

Just ordered one. Sounds like a neat device. Does anyone have one?

My 2008 Tundra came with that...I really wish the Super Duty came with them...people would use it and say, whoa that's sweet. If it works anything like the one I had on the Tundra, you will love it!

What I miss even more is that the Tundra had an electric back window, the whole window would go down just like any other window in the vehicle. That may be feature I miss the most.

The tailgate on my 2007 Tundra was a POS and had to be replaced under warranty. They had to lighten it up to make that assist work right. It was a very nice feature, but not at the expense of a weak tailgate.

I didn't know it was an option on the Ford.

Do they use a torsion spring?

Installed an EZ-Down on my 03 F250 about a year ago - for me, a great investment. Tail gate goes down slowly every time - no back strain trying to keep it from putting a shock load into the tailgate cables. Can't tell it's there when raising the tail gate - works perfect.

I would like to see a fully automatic rear window. I have an electric slider but I do like that full window feature of the Tundras. I'm looking forward to a no slam tailgate. Money well spent I am sure.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could get the back up camera to act as a security camera with recording capability?

EZ-Down is one of the best things I put on my truck. I love it and my wife thanks me for it every time she opens the tailgate.
