I put on the 902 yesterday (Oreillys), no mod needed, no problem with the pad, works pretty good...approx 3.5 second drop...however I do have some issues with the bracked bolt not staying tight. I guess I stripped it. Maybe use some threadlocker on it...we'll see.
Used some threadlocker on the bracket bolt, the 902 seems to be working well now. I do have that awful death squeal at the hinges with the slow tailgate drop...so gonna pick up some white lightning!

2011 F250 6.7 Lariat FX4
You must have turned it over 9 turns or maybe not enough. Mine holds tight.....
Mine squeaked a bit at first but is fine now. I still cannot believe this thread is still going haha. I may change my user name to "EZ Tailgate Thread Starter"!
So I took this system off of my old 6.4 truck and want to put it on my new 2011, but I couldn't get the "bracketed bolt / caged nut" out of the tailgate.
Anyone know where I can get a new nut / bolt? Not sure what its called so I can look for it on the internet.
Had to get one of these. So I looked at both the 901 and 902 at O'Reily's. Much to my surprise the 902 shock and top mount are identical to the 901 as opposed to some finding the 902 model was different in length and top mount. So of course I purchased the 902 since no modification is necessary. Works great no cutting of the rubber bumper and opens just shy of 4 seconds. So bottom line someone at EZ is listening.
