I got my 11 F350 Lariat at the end of September and I have been having the 2-3 shifting problem with my trans since day one. I have taken it to the dealer and they have kept it for a few days but of course they can't duplicate the problem. When my truck does this the CIL doesn't come on and there are no codes found by the dealer. Does anyone else with this problem get a CIL or codes?
I never got a check engine light, and the service writer said they didn't even check for codes. They were super, Babbit Ford in Flagstaff, ordered the parts without looking at the truck, called me weekly until the parts finally arrived, and did the work in one day. And it has been perfect since.
But, I have bought several vehicles from them over the years, and I think they maybe take a little better care of me because.
my dealer is telling me they can't do anything without the CIL or codes and my family bought 3 cars from them in 2 weeks, great customer service after the sales huh

Me thinks scheduling an appointment with the dealership's GM might rectify your problem. Bring a printout of the TSB.

It's obvious this dealer isn't making their revenue from the service side..
It says in the first paragraph of the TSB:
Some 2011 F-Super Duty 250 and 350 vehicles equipped with a 6.2L engine and 6R140 transmission may exhibit a 2-3 shift flare and/or malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) On with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0733, P2610 and/or delayed reverse engagement, with a build date on or before 4/11/2011. Symptoms may be more evident or seem worse after an extended soak.
I never had the service engine soon light come on, described the issue to the dealer, they applied the update...
After I filed for Lemon law With BBB , Dealer performed TSB and replaced solenoids Last Week, No Problems With Tranny Since . I Have My Fingers Crossed
Got the tsb done and not one flare yet. Still in the relearning phase so we'll see.
So, several thousand since the tsb and my transmission is not ok. The shifts are hard, especially from second to third, and yesterday I had a slight flare. I have emailed my dealer and will see where I get. I want a new transmission and nothing less!

It took several conversations with my dealer, moving up the chain of command to finally get action. I meet with the service manager, shop manager, senior tech (for transmissions?), service writter, and an assistant at my final meeting.
The senior tech had to contact Ford Tech to get his lap top updated with the right and or current info (and this is at a fairly large dealership). It eneded up taking him a couple of hours to perform the reprogram. So my guess is that all the reprograms he had done previously were no good. I guess time will tell if everything works for me.
I can be a hot-head when I get the run around, but I was calm yet very firm throughout this ordeal and that seemed to work.

The dealer called me back and an appointment is set. They told me they have contacted Ford and are determining options based on their test drive of the truck which is set for a week from now.
I know there are some but don't want to go through 33 pages. Who has had their transmission replaced due to internal damage? The dealer states that Ford has not seen problems post TSB.
Truck went in yesterday and of course they called today to say it was shifting perfect. It never shifts perfect! They are keeping it one more night and will test drive it again tomorrow. I guess the games begin!
If they give it back to you uncorrected, you should get video of it if you can make it occur at will.
I haven't heard of too many reports of trans issues after the TSB had been applied, and zero of any transmissions getting replaced.
I've tried getting video but holding a camera while attempting to drive isn't easy (or safe). Plus, as soon as a I don't have the camera on it acts up. As far as the TSB, my 2-3 flare is much better but still happens. However, I have now encountered numerous hiccups throughout the entire six speeds.
1 - 2-3 shift is hard and still flares on occasion
2 - after accelerating to 35-40mph the truck stays in third and then drops into 5th, skipping fourth. You can feel it and watch it.
3 - 5-6 is sometimes hard, more often it is the 6-5 which is hard.
4 - the latest is while in sixth gear, traveling at a steady 60mph, I watched and heard the rpm's go from 1700rpm to around 2300rpm and then back while never changing gears.
5 - I have lost 1mpg since the TSB and solenoid replacement. Before the "repair" I easily got 12.6 - 12.9mpg and even occasionally hit 13mpg. Now I get 11.6 -11.9mpg and occasionally see 12mpg if I'm easy and don't drive over 55mph. Before the issue started I was seeing 13.6 - 13.9mpg. I bought a tonneau cover hoping to see 14mpg. So, overall, I have lost minimally 2mpg due to this. That equals over $1,000 extra a year in fuel cost.
6 - first gear is sometimes almost non existent. The truck will travel just about it's length and shift into second. Others here claim it held first gear longer after the tsb.
Now, I understand the dealer has to feel and/or see the problem before they can go further but I can't make the above up. I have and do encounter each and every one of them. None at the same time and not all of them daily but usually one of them daily. I drive a half hour to work and a half hour back. I bet they aren't driving it for even close to that amount of time during their "test drive"!

Reason: rewrite
So, another call and their keeping it another night. They still are saying it is operating as designed but are speaking with a Ford engineer to discuss my fuel mileage issue. I praise this dealer for going the extra and at least for making it look like they care. Will find out more tomorrow!
I have had the same problem with my 2011 6.2 f250. poblem is ford will not reconize it has this truble with its trucks. thay dont want to have to recall. but what i found out is when you take it in to your dealer and complane of this problem, ford will tell you that thay could not find any problems with your truck, but when you drive off, the truck will shift as smooth as silk. FORD will fix it thay just wont admit to it. that is what happend to me.

It's funny you say that. I just picked mine up after they had it for three days and said that there was nothing wrong. I had no problems on the way home and seemed to be better. We'll see in the morning but it's ironic you posted that!
