What a pryo?

Same thing as a exhaust temp gauge. Keeps track of the hot exhaust coming out of the heads.

Andy, the injectors are still in the truck right now. Why do you need a set? I have 3 stock sets left.

Doug, already answered, but a "Pyro" or Pyrometer is an exhaust gas temperature gauge. Not that I'm gonna look at it, but in case I want to.....what am I gonna do, lift? NOOOOOO! LOL

As far as the power windows and gutting the interior..........oh man. Here is a point in this conversation where you will realize that not everything I do makes sense, AT ALL! I searched for an XLT cab and chassis so it would have power windows. Which is one reason I had to go all the way to West Virginia to get it. LOL

Now, will I gut the interior? Time will tell. The truck is already super light. I've gutted the dash as much as I'm going to. As far as the seats, I'm putting in 40/20/40 stock seats to start with. But I've been concidering the racing seats and harness'. But the rules don't need them.

But the windows..................while this is a competition only rig it WILL have power windows. Oh yes, it will. Even if I remove everything else on the truck, IT WILL have power windows and locks. I was deprived of them when I was growing up and Rockee is the first truck I've ever had with power windows and locks. And I swore to myself, every vehicle I own from here on out will have power windows. LOL

However, if you are looking to fit your XL truck with all stock power windows and locks. Prepare yourself for what I'm about to say........

If your truck is not wired for them from the factory, you will have to remove the ENTIRE dash. Not part of it, all of it. The harness that controls the windows and various other features sits right below the defrost vents. And you can not remove it or install it any other way. My truck before Rockee (No.3), had cranks, and I went to install power windows. Well, i started in a junk yard to get all the pieces. Once I had removed the entire dash and realized what all that harness did, and how I had to get it, I gave up.

Now, it's not to say you can't do it. It CAN be done. But it is a mountain of work, and nothing short. But you may get lucky and the wiring already be there. Send fishmandotcom a pm on here and ask him to send you a pic of the passenger kick pannel wiring that has the wires for power windows. If yours looks the same, your in business. Tell him the pic he sent Cody. He'll know.

Cody Thanks for the info. I will pm him. Now about a set of injectors. Are the 3 set you have in good shape? I want to get a set to do a stage1 diy kit but can't have my truck down for all that time seeing it is a dd. Also pm about a price for a set.

I guess I'm the opposite of most you guys. I prefer the manual windows and door locks. Had a friend burn up in a car that caught fire from some pool chemicals that ignited in the back seat. She grabbed the door handle and the door would not open, nor would the windows go down. Electric shorted out. It was a nissan, and it was built so that you had to unlock the doors in order to open them from the inside. Cars and trucks today are built so that the front doors will open when you grab the door handle to get out. I also had a chevy that had those fu'n doorlocks that would automatically lock the doors when you put it in drive.
Besides, less electric problems in my opinion.

Well, it's time to put some parts together. This week we started in on the bed mounting and the solid Super Street chassis. So the first thing is I took the truck to my good friend Chad's house. His welding facility is far better than mine. Plus he has level concrete. LOL So our first task was to get the chassis stripped down. The new face here is my #2 Inmate and Co-Founder of Death Row Diesel. Meet Chris. Of course when Carl is around, there's always some screwin' around going on.

More stripping the frame. And while Chris and Carl were stripping the frame, I was making the open diff for the Dana 80 a lincoln locker. Well, Miller locker, but you know what I mean.
