Where in Indiana are you Cowmilker? I know the Sullivans are huge in truck and tractor pulling, or they used to be back when I went to them. I know they're from the Warsaw, Ky area. Didn't know if that might be who you were referring to.

I'm from Noble County. One county west of Ohio, One county south of Michigan. I was refering to Terry DeLong. He doesn't do pulling, he just does cool. LOL.
You have 2 buckets of water.
The objective is to drain the bucket the quickest without tipping it over.
Bucket 1, has a standard size hole. lets say the size of a pen.
Bucket 2 had a 200% hole, which is 2x the size of the hole in bucket 1.
Which do you think will empty first? =)
So. I think its more of an efficiency thing.
I dont know all the "details" of these things. Basically bigger nozzles means fuel faster.
**** Phil. i'ma stop in and visit this spring. You have no idea how often I drive that way.
Cody, sorry i couldn't make it last night. i left my phone in my truck and didn't notice it til i went to bed. went to the TSD event today tho so prolly wouldn't have made it anyways. 2 dodges broke in tug-o-war and no fords broke in tug o war.. oh yeah and a ford didn't get pulled backward either. haha. let me know if you need help next weekend. i will prolly be down.
guys, if y'all want some injector info gathered start a thread and Cody, Jim, and I with the little i know so far along with the other guys who have research hard and long on these will answer the best we can. lets keep this thread to Codys sled puller and not get off topic with injector efficiency, time vs ICP, etc. LoL
so with that said, Codys injectors are in the middle of the pack. they are obviously 238's w/ 200% nozzles. they would run AWESOME with a 72mm turbo, but will spool his 76 with a sled behind it if he loads it long enough. he SHOULD pull over 500hp, but lets not start calling numbers. how bout lets do before we say??? haha. Basically he could drive the truck on the street with those injectors daily if the engine was going to be in a streetable rig, but solid suspension MIGHT not be too streetable.. LoL aight i said too much already. Sorry about the off topic stuff Cody...
Cody, Are you going to be adding front weights to the truck? If so do you need to extend the frame? I was just looking at our tractor and thinking front weight is a must for some of the loads we pull. Now I know you will be pulling a lot more weight but still same thier.
Doug, I am going to build a weight box. So far our weight boxes are coming in at 750lbs by themselves. Then we can add concrete bags if needed. Here is a pic of our Dodge Super Street puller. I built this weight box. This is Gary Ziats pulling in his truck "The Cloud Puncher".
FYI, that's an 8" hood stack. Mine will be similar.

too bad it never got any wind.... hahaha. Cody, i sure hope u don't end up in the same chit as Gary was with his Apache.. 76 is pretty large for 238's... haha
hey cody what about a 4 link suspension and you could put some solid links inplace of springs so you can still street it if you want, or take it to the strip......
Duck
Here is a question going back to the wheel base. I have no idea what type of rules they have for wheel base or hitch to axle measurement, but I was wondering if you might have more advantage leaving the axle where it is and moving the fender flares back to make the wheel look right from the outside. That would give you a longer lever arm to the weight box in the front giving you more bang for the buck. On the down side it would look off to the trained eye, and it might be cheating in some circles. Just thinking out loud. I like the project, keep up the good work.
doesn't need to spool fast, just needs to spool. Welcome to FTE, btw. i have seen you around PSN. he will not be driving this truck except for when it has a sled behind it so he has plenty of time to spool the BFH and as you know the HEUI doesn't have the atomization we need so we need more air than others, with that said in this case we can sacrifice spool time to get more air in there so it will run pretty good once he gets the turbo spooled. my only worry is whether or not he will be able to stay on top of the turbo all the way down the track.
