Nelstone, it probably would be more of an advantage to leave it long......but I can't have my truck looking all stupid. I am a trained eye, and it would drive me insane. I'd rather look good and lose, than look bad and win. That's just how I roll. I'm not in it for money, and don't even care if I win. I'm building this truck cuz it will be fun, and I'll look cool doing it. LOL
cody you always were all about having it done right lol. i remember wen you made me a real air filter for my truck b/c of the POS i was using. ahhh old times

Whats the point if you don't look good! right. It would be more of an advantage in a stock class where you couldn't run the big weight box. You can't be in it for the money, this is a hobby, some guys fish other collect stamps, you are trying to pull a heavy weight down a dirt road, personally I like to smash cars into each other. I refuse to believe you don't care if you win you know deep down you want to win and look good doing it.

If he wanted to win he'd be putting a cummins in it......
Seriously tho that thing is gonna slap all those dodge in the mouf. one of them in particular is gonna take a little more effort to beat, but i think u got him cody. haha
Ryan, winning is sweet, and there is no denying that. But make no mistake, I don't care if I win. What I want is my guys to win. I work a million times harder on their trucks than I do on my own. You ask anyone, and they will tell you the same. But on the other side of that, I'm not building a truck just to fail. What I'm building will leave alot of guys wondering what the hell just happened. On any given day weather it by my daily driver Rockee, or any of my racing trucks, you BETTER bring your A game if you want to beat me. But if you do, it's a high likelyhood that I helped you get there, so it's all good to me, and I'll be the first to congradulate you.
Okay, we worked on the Dana 80 rear a little more this past weekend. I say work, but it was more like a big grab azz/ fail event. My goal on this particular evening was to finish removing the gears and get the housing clean so I can cut off all the perches and brackets. This axle will be solid mounted so no need for brackets or brakes. Just gears and hubs. And I had a guy that wanted these gears for his truck and he was gonna trade me his 4.10's. Well, I couldn't wait on that, but I still wanted to give him the 3.54's. So I wanted to take them out in tact. Well, put 4 meat heads in a shop late at night with large tools of destruction and what do you get........you got it, messed up gears. Well, honestly, I couldn't get the pinion to break loose from the front bearing. I didn't have the correct press, and had to resort to the hammer. Well, I hammered it with the pinion nut on and that was a mistake. It took almost 30 minutes with a 3/4" impact to get it off, and this was the scene.
Well, so far you've seen the faces of myself, Travis, and Carl. Here you have the the elusive species know as Wacey. Wacey avoids cameras like they are super soakers filled with acid. Wacey is generally found where ever Travis is. But what is so rare about this picture is he's actually wearing pants, and smiling.
In all truthfulness, Wacey is also a staple here at the Death Row Camp. While his specialty is not wrenching, it is comic relief. This is one of the funniest guys you will ever meet, and no matter the weather, or situation, he's always there. And on this occasion he jumped in to help us out. Thanks for your help Wacey
And just to further the fact that we were really getting nothing done, here's a pic of Carl letting Wacey know exactly how "Wrong" he is using the wire wheel. LOL
Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I took a picture of the picture Kevin gave me of the truck when it was wrecked. It really sucks I know, but you can kinda get an idea of how bad it was. I'm gonna try to do it again with a better camera.
