I have learned to love it. Most of these new autos do nothing for me. The only cool thing about them are interior and driveline. I could care less about the fuel injected, aluminum. costly to repair motors. I look forward to the abundance of seats, alternators, radiators, cooling fans, independent rearends, etc.
I have a good chance of getting a 95 bench seat with lumbar, fold down arm rest, and cup holders at the base of the seat for free. Some guy traded his very clean flareside to the dealer. When they clunk the motor I am getting the seat. I just have to give them a junk seat to put back in it.
Most of these people bringing these cars in never do their own work and have no appreciation for them. They do not deserve them. Now the guys like us that do value certain items can enjoy whatever parts we want.
I look forward to the abundance of seats, alternators, radiators, cooling fans, independent rearends, etc....This is like a huge holiday at the junkyard.
Maybe when I have time I'll post pix of my C4C loot
I agree with you, I just find it interesting how some of these people could sell these cars for more than the $4500 they got at the dealership and then put the money to a new car...or how these people trade in a beater, which, if it is their primary car and within their means, should not be buying a new car.
Get some pics, if ya wouldn't mind. I wanna see the result of that retarded idea.... >_>
I wonder if anyone's ever put a Jeep 4.0L I6 into a Ford full-size truck....I bet it'd still pin ya to the seat, even pushing 4,500 pounds....lol
EDIT: Good point, first today. I don't know if my town even had any C4C stuff going on (in this town, I'd probably find out about it one way or another...lol)...I'll have to check my local JY to see if I can find anything. I know I could go for some nice "new" parts...
BTW on the C4C vehicles, did they kill the transmissions too?
i just saw a 71 mustang with twin hood scoops (factory) in rough condition..sitting off the road.
question is did the scoops come only on a particular model or what???
coulndt pop the hood where it was...what size engine 351 w or c?

Ok, so if anyone is curious as to what the engines look like after a CFC disabling, I will get pictures for you next time I go out there. I didn't have my camera with me today, but I am hoping to go out on wednesday again.
i took the dipstick out of an f250 with a 460, it's so sad
the oil, literally, looks like black glass, its very sad.
but, on a good note, the body panels on the trucks I came across today, perfect condition, no rust, no dents, so if you're interested, let me know and I will get prices and pictures on wed. as for interior trim, hate to say it, but it's all trash.
came across a very nice woodgrain dash, but the guy had cut out pieces, cracked it, and burned it in spots.
but yes, we have over 20 trucks at this lot with our generation fords, all of them sadly CFC trucks.
i also came across plenty of 2000+ vehicles at this lot, who in their right mind would trade in a 2006 ford explorer ...EDDIE BAUER TRIM!!, come on people, what is wrong with you!!
