Kirby... If only I could be blessed with helpful JYs, but most of the ones around here don't have much inventory from before the mid-90s. I would probably have better luck if I was bi-lingual.

On the other hand, the friendly people at O'Reilly's have been a big help.

Had me scared for a minute, I thought you were talking to me... lol

EDIT: LOL yep, here in Texas, Espanol pays off....'cept I don't know any of it... :P Only one JY around here that I know of. My dad and I got a steering column for my truck years ago from there. Plus there's a "car lot" of sorts with a bunch of old cars in it, mostly junked out but there are several interesting ones. In a town not too far from me there's an old-timey auto shop with some rather nice old cars out front. In fact I saw a decent old muscle car zip down the street last time I was in that area, but it either had a quiet muffler or an inline six, cuz it wasn't exactly roaring. :P And yes the people at O'Reillys are very friendly. Not often do you get people from auto stores sitting on the phone with you for half an hour to help you find a part...when you're not exactly sure what you need.

EDIT 2: Well you might could benefit from the 90s stuff...F-Series/Bronco seats, mirrors, body panels (at least beds)....not to mention carpeting/whole floor mats and various other little goodies.

To 98% of society, this is a pile of worthless scrap metal.

To the 2% that is wrench-turning truck owners, this is a dream project.

Sorry about missing the "The" and "Man" from your name. I guess you could call me "caster".

The garage that I have used for my other cars in the past also does car restorations, so they will be a good resource down the road. The nice thing about FTE is that the advice is free when you are brainstorming a long range project. I also don't want to waste my mechanics time if I'm not giving him immediate work.

@Jmeyer Spammers >_<

@4caster No big deal, I quite like it that way :P

Cool. And yea. I've gotten tons of great info from people here. I especially like finding out all the history about my truck, where in the past I thought it was near impossible to find that sort of stuff anymore.

What's in a name?

Seriously, what does the name matter? I could have a username like "fafflewompadipdip" yet be versed in every Ford manual printed. :\

to me, a name is everything.

when I was working at JCP, i refused to call people back who listed their primary email as

"neibrhudslut6969@blahblahblah.com"

if you can't present yourself in a professional manor, then don't present yourself at all.
stay in your little closet, and never come out.

Was browsing Detroit Diesel vids on YouTube....and I found this gem nestled in with the comments of one particular video:

"I saw that guy that put bio fuel in his. When he passed me it was blowing tater tots out of the stacks !!"

lol
