with 15 empty pumps, wondering why i'm clackety clackin behind them. Just another way the gasser crowd has no idea what diesel is.
100%
It's maddening. I try to tell them in a tactful and friendly way that if they have an option to choose a pump without diesel, please do so because only one or two pumps offer diesel.
Most people are so oblivious and self-centered that they never figure it out. It's like people getting into the right-most lane at a red light when there's no turn-only lane, and they're not turning, just to be one car closer. They'll have a line of two dozen cars stuck behind them with their right blinkers on by the time the light turns green, and they couldn't give any less of a ****. So sad and depressing.
My gasser crowd is all ex-diesel owners, sick of repair expense, down time, and paying for a AAA membersip.
You have a gasser crowd? That's cute! So cute, I can understand why you guys dunno how to wrench and make reasonable evaluations of your situations . Fact of the matter is, unless you own a 6.0 or a spark plug spitter, most people drive their diesels and gas trucks with minimal problems.
...sick of...down time, and paying for a AAA membersip.
It took me all day to change spark plugs on my '97 5.4L and all I've used my AAA for in 15 years of membership is vehicle registration, maps, maps, and maps. If you've ever been to the DMV in CA that alone makes the membership worthwhile!
I love Google and Garmin but you can't beat foldout drawings of the Earth that you can lay on your hood. Maybe it's because I'm old and maybe it's because I like to go places where there's no cell service and I don't want to pay $60 for a digital map to try and see on a 4" screen.

Some stations have big boy pumps so you don't have to go by the starbucks sipping oblivious gasser crowd.

I drink my Starbucks so I guess that takes me out of the oblivious crowed. You still have the Prius driver blocking the only diesel pump while he's inside buying ding dongs & tweeting how's he should be entitled to free gas since he's doing so much for the environment by driving his car. In the mean time all the gas pumps are available for use. I filled up, drank my Starbucks and am back on the road.
Humans are inherently irrational creatures. If you bought a diesel and were concerned, get an extended warranty. Or admit you don't need a truck at all, buy a Camry for commuting, and hire someone to pull your travel trailer to its destination, and save a ton of money.

It's very possible to NEED a truck, and not want a diesel.
Look around, plenty of people, utility companies, businesses, and piles of other entities that use gas-powered TRUCKS for business and truck-required-pleasure.
It's one of the most frustrating things to read this thread over the years, and the gas/diesel flame wars years before that, and there is this glaring omission from the diesel lovers that there is actually another choice that WORKS for so many people.
It's really just ignoring the elephant in the room, or the 800lbs gorilla, when statements like the above are made.
