Funny all the break down talk about diesels...I have over 700,000 miles riding behind 500+whp 6bts and the only reason I've ever been on a tow truck is a broken main shaft in the Trans, once... 350k on my current 24v, 300k are mine, all 300k are above 500 whp. Your 6.2's won't even see 300k miles even with their weak outputs.
Just because you had a 7.3 or a 6.blow, or even saw a diesel on a tow truck, doesn't mean all of us suffer hopeless lives burying our right foot to guzzle the fuel it takes to get up the next hill because we are too scared to buy a diesel. I wouldn't even know what to do with 8 ft of timing chain and down shifts.
Funny flatbed ed is nearing or passed 400k with his 6.2 with no engine issues. You also have to run cummins in a real truck.
I've swapped diesels into pretty much everything under the sun (building a 97 crew zf6/24v now in fact) I don't need to get rid of something that works just so the blindly brand loyal can say it's "real"

I have nothing against cummins, especially before all this emission crap, but the thread title is gas vs psd. So your truck really doesn't amount to a hill of beans in this thread, even if it is cooler than crap.

sheeeeeeyaatt, I've been in this thread since 2011...it sure as hell hasn't been 900 pages of psd vs gas
I originally had a regular cab short box 7.3 4x4. But then one frightful morning, a 300 car freight train had stalled blocking our road. There was a guy there with his gasser trying to pull the train, but couldn't budge it. I hooked up the Mighty Seven Three, and not only did I move the train safely (and easily) out of the way, my truck is now a four door long box!
