There is more. 10 years ago I spend 5 weeks driving in several countries in Europe. Crossed 11 borders. Noticed Chrysler minivans .... diesel powered, Noticed Jeep Cherokee.... diesel powered. Followed sport Audi TT at 110 mph. Took me 1/2 hr to notice the "CDI" sticker on the rear. What I was driving? Ford Focus cdi wagon with 1.8 l diesel engine. Clocked the darn thing at 140 mph in Alps with my GPS.
yea, the most liberal place on the planet (excluding french canada) uses primarily diesel. the big 3 have a HUGE fleet of diesel vehicles (small and mid size) that are only available over seas. somethin is certainly rotten in denmark (no pun intended).
Oh, and I dare you to take a kerosene heater into a closed space. That will end this debate pretty quick, and kill you too. Best to run it with a CO detector in the room.
If that were the case, the 6 guys that finished the inside of my neighbors garage in February would be dead. 2 weeks, Mon through Fri from 7-5, those guys worked inside that garage with a kero heater on the entire time.

And what did you just say???? Dude you keep loseing me w/ this across the pound stuff. You say very little about the actual topic. Diesel cars in europe hardly compare to the subject at hand. Most of us could careless that a german car get 90 mpg.
Admit we're getting screwed. Last time I checked I sent the check to the bank for my truck note. The Gov. Didn't force my truck on me. Matter of fact I owed $7K on my 05 f150 when I traded for my SD. I did it to get what I wanted. You can't screw somebody when they know before hand what they are getting into.
Please, please, for the love of God stay on this topic it would be nice if you would stay on this continent. But I guess that would be asking to much. This topic is v10 vs psd unless europe's v10 and psd factor in somewhere but indont remember you mentioning those engines over there.
That's because, first, they don't even make gasoline heaters because they are too volatile for private use - people would either blow themselves up or burn themselves with it. Just look at the number of times someone has tried to use gasoline in a kero heater
Using a wick, kero is easy to deal with because it won't burn without the wick. A puddle of kero on the floor won't light with a match.

Either way, I drove a diesel for work for 5 years in my mid 20's, which I maintained myself. Never again, and that thing was a purely mechanical injection setup. I ran the battery dead because the alternator wasn't putting out and it kept running - it wouldn't turn OFF as a matter of fact
Brother I follow most of what you said and agree. I'm alittle confused on the dare. Until I got married and we got our first house kero was how we heated. We had 3 heaters in the house. 1 in living room 1 in kitchen and 1 in hall way for taking baths. 1 in the hall was only used if really needed. The only thing we did was have a tin cup on top of the heater. That was a humidifire back then. It kept thing from drying out like your sinuses and eyes etc. I agree about a co detector but I would have one any time any kind of fuel is being used for heat be it wood, natural gas, lp or whatever. I have em and now I heat w/ naturial gas and have a fire place.
I have kero and oil lamps cause I figure if times ever get rough I could always use diesel and babyoil to get me through. I had to use the baby oil a week ago. Blew my wifes mind. I had a great childhood.

Glad I'm not the only one thinking that... Europe car diesel car in Europe
well, the thread should be closed down anyway. my eyeballs almost came outta my head when i saw that it was active (still talkin bout motor vs motor) after 740 pages. . . .
at this point, "staying on topic" would just be repetition of what has already been said 10x over, or 100x for that matter. . . . .
obviously no1 is gonna admit their 6.8 is inferior to the psd, and is true the other way around (dunno why they would, unless their 6.0 has been in the shop). in the 750 pages, i seriously doubt any v10 owner said, "you know what, youre right. you convinced me to go buy a PSD tomorrow!!!". . .meanwhile, im sure (again, in the 750 pages) that each and every pro and con of each have been discussed more than once. . .
i might add, its never a trade of "injectors for spark plugs". . .its always "plugs for injectors". . .
as for beatin a dead horse, ill pass the stick. (pass the torch for those who didnt get it)

That's stupidity in action. Believe me, I've done it, WITH a CO detector, and the results are in... they do produce CO.
