I would really like to see your source of information. A lot of the 6.0 is in the 6.4. They bored the bock kept the stroke canned the fuel system went with a high pressure common rail dual egr coolers etc. The 6.0l was retired to meet emissions. Plain and simple. Ford wasn't even close to bankrupt. In 09 Ford bought navastar out of its contract. Project scorpion had been around for awhile. Ford had plans of going to an inhouse engine.
Anywhere, everywhere. Google is your friend. It's not hard to form an opinion if you search "6.0 power stroke" in google.
I need it to tow my 7500lb TT and my 5.4L struggled. I see in my future a bigger trailer, more than likely a 5'er that will weigh more and a truck with a bigger motor will be needed. My 5.4 is rated at 300HP and the 7.3L is 275HP...not a ton to me, plus the huge torque difference makes up for it.
I can't see a 5.4 towing much in my book at least not up a grade and I have tried and I was white knuckled at 4k towing,,

Personally I did that exact thing ! and it's very good advice!
I choose to go with the 6.0 over the 6.4 2 years ago and to date this is the best truck I have owned but I know what I am working with thanks to the internet

You must have diesel "net nanny" on your computer. Type in 6.0 psd and read the endless amounts of dissatisfied owners. Including one from myself.
lol I am just smarter than you on the 6.0 because I was armed with the knowledge of what to do to make it perfect .. goggle with safe mode off lol
,, and I made the dealer do it all under warranty ,, I wasn't kidding I knew exactly what I was doing and haven't looked back since , this is one great truck
I googled "6.0 ford problems" and got 13,700,000 responses. Just for kicks i googled " 6.8 ford problems" and got 5,170,000 responses. to me it seems the 6.8 has as many problems as the 6.0 per production #s.

7.3 ford problems (just cause you made me curious)
dang I guess to be fair you would have to break it down to units sold /complaints filed / and even factor in the form of how complaints were filed because the internet opened up a whole new arena for that

It might not tow like a V10 or a newer powerstroke, but it can tow heavyloads just fine.
In the late 80s and early 90s the 180 HP cummins, 170 HP IDI and 240 HP 460 and 454 were thought of as beasts for towing. So why would the 5.4 not be able to tow the same loads? Towing 4k with a 4 cylinder ranger is white knuckle. With any superduty with any engine its nothing.
