If you passed me and I shot you the look, I'd be thinking that you must hate your wallet to drive like that. But hey, it's your wallet so you can do with it what you want. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Somehow I don't think that is a performance issue. However, I think you're mistaken. He passed you when you were stopped at the pump.
I am just talking about holding the speed limit, not flying by a truck thats holding its speed.
I personally have never spent anytime behind the wheel of a V10,so all I can say is... if the V10 is thirstier than the 5.4 then I don't ever want one. Reliable or not! I didnt sell my 01F250 5.4 because it gave me problems, infact it never had any mechanical issues. I sold it simply because it was breaking me at the pump. My 7.3PSD has let me down once when I lost #1 injector, but with 230,000 on the clock and the original 4R100 still holding on, I have not one complaint about performance or economy. And since its been pulling heavyloads day in, day out since day one is a testiment to its design.

I get the same MPGs in either one.

I cant agree more with that, with either motor these trucks will take so much and keep on working.
I have a friend that helps me load and rides with me some times.
He says that the fact that it still even runs is a testament to how ford builds things, and I have to agree.
I was with my dad in his V-10 when he received a call about a water truck, loaded, stuck in the mud. A solid chain, a snap rope, and a lot of slinging mud, but that water truck was freed. One of the coolest things I have ever seen. One little truck pulling out a loaded semi!
I wish had the video...I have told that story a couple of times to V-10 haters and they did not believe me. Sucks to be them. They missed out on one wild ride. Great thread.
Bill, did you ever stop and wonder why there are no V10s?????? LOL
I've seen HEMIs pulling big stuff out of ditches too on youtube. Just that all the V10 owners have better stuff to do - like hauling heavy loads then to stop and take a video of them pulling some truck out of a ditch
Actually there's a video of a V10 F350 service truck (i believe) pulling a loaded tractor trailer. I'd link it but I'm at work right now and they don't allow such shenanigans!

Cool, can you post it latter?
I would like to see that.
