I can understand that, I would like a nice, new F350 CC DRW 4x4 with a 3V 10 and 6 speed.
But I don't have the money, and even if I did I would just put it into my old trucks.
To be honest, with ford dropping the V10 and stick shift I do not think I will ever buy a new truck. That does not really bother me either, I know that what I have will tow whatever I need and has lots of life left in it.
95 and Bill, you guys have some great trucks but I have 115,000 on my 6.4, 99% of them are towing trailers, and the thing is a real pleasure to spend hours behind the wheel. Tows like nothing I have ever driven. When I say that I mean stopping, sway, stability, and of course getting to and maintaining speed. MPG really bites but the thousands of hours of safe and comfortable towing make up for it for me.
A V10 or a 7.3 would be great too but in my line of work, keeping a truck beyond 250,000 miles does not make sense. Not for the motor but for the rest of the stuff that begins to break down (tranny all the way down to holes in the seats).
Lot of miles for an 08, what do you do for a living?
I just saw the Bilstein shocks in your sig, how do you like them?

You are out of warranty, why not do the DPF and all the other stuff to that engine? I would think with that many miles that quick, the mpg difference would not take long to get back the money. AND... you get a much more fun truck to drive.
With all of the extra money, you could turbo or twin turbo the V-10.LOL
I would like to do that, but I need to swap a 6 speed in first.
I am pretty happy with the power I have, I just can not get a load rolling from a stop.
I was surfing You tube the other day and came across a video of a blown V10. It didn't show much of the truck besides the guy whacking the throttle, but it sounded sooooo good. That's my new fantasy build rather than toss money at a new truck. Of course, I'm pretty sure the gas gauge would sink about as fast as the tach went up.
Laugh if you want, but many years ago my brother built a dropped 1972 Blazer 2WD. For a motor it had a 350 Chevy with a 6-71 blower and a pair of Holley 600's reworked by Dyers Blower Service. That thing actually was very streetable and got 14 mpg!! The anemic 305 that came out only got about 11mpg.
