Just a word of warning for anyone out there that uses various sources for their trucks/parts shopping.
Lets see if you can connect the dots as to how Paypal (top photo) is trying to scam me with this RockAuto order (bottom photo). RockAuto uses the most up-to-date currency conversion rates via Google. I enjoy using their service because I can get parts for SUPER cheap.
As you can see... Paypal apparently comes up with their own baloney rate...
With our chipped debit cards I'm surprised Rock Auto didn't take that, use it with the credit card function and enter the 3 digit number on back when prompted. Paypal is owned by bandits and is one of the least secure ways to send money, using any third party money transfer company is dangerous, better off just sticking it in an envelope and mailing it, register the letter if it's above $100
I've seen that before Aaron, I just use venders that will take credit cards. Between UPS and Paypal you can get gouged badly if you are not paying close attention.
Last week I got the fake CIBC email, a check for $830 was deposited in your account and we have now frozen it. Contact us at wwwyadayada to correct this error and open your account. 2nd time in 10 weeks for this scam so it's working. Printed it off and brought it to the bank as I had a 67. check to deposit.
If someone does a credit check on you through equifax, with in 3 days you will get a call from a 1 855- number from the states claiming they're a collection agency. Go ahead and give them your banking info if you want to be broke in a day.
Yeah, usually it's a notice letting me know that I got an overpayment in the past and one of my deposits is getting clawed back at 10% until it's paid back.
So many scams.
If someone claims to be a collection agency I just hang up on them and block their number.
Nice thing about my cell phone is i can block any number in about 2 seconds ☺
