No hurry Morris, its going to be a week before I do anything that involves greasy dirty mechanical work on this thing. Grease and body work don't go together to well. I would have to break a spring that never breaks, out of 10,000 transmission break downs, this happens once.lol
Isn't grease sort of like rust proofing......
You're not a lone Perry, I have the same type of luck with things that aren't ever supposed to break or wear out.
I used to be a lot better at finding hens teeth, time to relax and let the brain wander. Some group of ideas will come to mind. Going to have to take measurements and find someone who deals in flat steel springs, not just round steel. Truck wreckers will probably be my best bet.
That's why I've put this transmission on the back burner for a while, going to get on the bike in a day or 3 and head down to empire truck and see what they have. Might look to see what they have for under, direct, overdrives. Want it for my project.
Another nice sunny day here meant another ride in the panel today and had the rear window glass cut for the pickup, glass should go in next Wednesday and cab back on the frame on Thursday..
