This is a common enough problem as it's usually one of 3 roll pins, the shifter fork, the boots on the fork or the gate on the shaft. the top of this trans comes off and all the shifting mechanism is inside off the top piece. the hardest part is making sure I get any metal thats broken off of it out of the pto window, there's a magnet in the trans apparently to catch any loose teeth.
Looks like your having fun, nice dent on the blue cab, slider window is something you need to keep, real pita trying to find one with the right gasket shape when you need one

I'm actually quite lucky as I picked up a 1996 rear slider (interchangeable between 73-98) with the gasket still attached for $30.
I'll probably throw away the red cab's slider because it's VERY worn and the components are becoming quite brittle.
The upside is that I get to have a jet black rear slider that works that fits my truck from a newer era of truck.
Was going to be a short day so I spent it raking and bagging leaves, how about them leafs. Rake, bag, take to back alley $4 a bag, you rake and supply bag $2.50 a bag, $90 richer.
Good evening folks.
Oct has ended the way it started, cloudy cold and dark, no sun glasses needed.

It's real nice when the fix is that easy with no need to remove the transmission.

Looks good Aaron. I didn`t know that they were interchangeable from 73-96.
No one trick or treater showed up here as usual.
