And just to be pedantic -- aluminum foil was first produced in 1825 by a Danish chemist named Hans Christian Oersted. Charles Martin Hall, in 1889, got the patent was the first one able to mass produce it at an affordable level.
Sorry, I'm a giant geek. But I have deep love for them both and for the amazing folks of FTE every time I push that door lock button.

My experience was the first door took a little over an hour, the remaining 3 about 20 mins a piece.
Front doors were easiest pulling the assembly out the door handle, rear doors easilt dropping the assembly down and out the inside of the door.
1) Do leave the metal rivets in tact
2) Do smooth off (wood chisel) and drill the plastic rivets before popping the case open. makes it way easily to reassemble.
3) Do clean the copper piece and make it shiny to give good contact
4) Do use a paper clip to hold the motor brushes open when reassembling the motor.
5) A #1 robertson / square screwdriver bit is the perfect size for driving the metal tabs on the motor back in place
6) Do make sure you resecure all of the cables, wires and rods, I missed some on my first door and had to do it over as the lock rod was binding on the door cable.
I just drilled the plastic rivet on the motor end, pryed it open like a clamshell, dropped the motor out, and afterwards; put a piece of rebar tie wire through the hole and twisted the ends. Tin foil is easier than the penny. All mine are still working fine after 3 years.
