my truck s battery connector came loose and truck died i fixed battery problem and now my door locks don't work, they don't even attempt to work just nothingness. could this be the door locks or something else?
There are fuses under the hood as well. If those check out ok, then I would hope that it's a coincidence thing. If the fuses are ok, then I would remove the drivers side switches and test for power to the switches. If there isn't any power, then you have to either trace the lead back and find out where it's broken, or run a new power wire. Do your windows work?
Just a thought, have you tried the switch on the passenger side? It could be as simple as one of the switches, or a loose plug on one of them. They 'talk' to each other.
Awesome info thank you!!! Will try on my F250. It is weird but seemed I was getting reverse action on the drivers door aginst the other locks before teh whole thing started failing recently. That is without doing any mods yet that could have reversed the polarity.
I am hoping this fix will work and thanks for sharing!
After that is it is literally a 30 minute fix for both doors. I cut a penny for each door with a demel tool and now the actuators work better than new.

I just crammed tin foil in all 5 of mine 3 years ago and OP; I would start with the "fix".
Hi guys. I'm totally new here. I just bought a 2001 F-250 7.3 because I wanted a real truck and wanted something that is going to last me. It only has 200k on it and feels like it has been babied (insert comments here regarding the fifth wheel hitch in the bed).
The door locks don't work right now but I'm a shade tree mech and will be performing this minor surgery this weekend. If anyone has any advice other than that above, please let me know.
I really appreciate the work and excellent documentation posted by Kalsc. I love it when people find fixes and help others. Kudo's to you Kalsc.

You will do fine, the first lock will take the time..the rest are easy once you know what you are doing. I think I did the 4th door on my crew cab in something like 20 minutes in total from start to finish.
Drop the exterior handles out first. The first one took me a few minutes, the second I didn't even have to completely remove to get at the motor parts. In fact I just pried the case apart at the one end while hanging out of the door and it all kinda worked out.
