Hot Rod Holiday INDOOR car show this weekend at the Springfield fairgrounds. INSIDE the Eplex, so who cares about the weather outside.

Saturday, November 22, 2025 – 10am till 8pm
Sunday, November 23, 2025 – 11am till 5pm

https://www.ozarkempirefair.com/p/ev...ot-rod-holiday

I have some fellow FTE members stoping by to get some truck parts sat and sun. So I will not be there, it would of been cool to drag the Bronco down, but I just seen the advertisment for it on the TV last night. Oh well I need to work on the garage anyway.

I got the compressor motor back already, the guy said there was a ton of mud baubers in the "points (?)", so many it held the points closed all the time, so could it not switch from the start up capacitor to the run capacitor. Says he got it all cleaned out and run great on his test bench. I am going to put it on tomorrow and see how is goes.

Hey rich, and everyone else. Got like 6 messages from the site today so figured I’d check in. Lol. I’m still out here and my truck has been my daily for a while. It looks pretty good at our local college these days with all the kids that don’t understand the center handles sticking out of th floor. 🤣 After being a vol FF/EMT for 14 years I decided to go back to school and get my RN license. I have a year to go and have come to the conclusion that the nursing program was not made for a 45 yo guy. 🤣 I enjoy it though and the girls don’t let me act my age.
hopefully really soon I’ll be building a couple more trucks. I need a more eco friendly version to dd and need to clean up my yard before winter hits, so I have another supercab build planned and a reg cab 2wd that I already finished the frame. Slow going… I’ll try to check in more often now that I got logged back in. 🤣

Morning!
Rich I had the points burn up in the pressure switch on my compressor too. Along with pump, capacitors, belt, etc. Have replaced everything but the actual motor so assume thats coming! That inside car show sounds cool but doubt I make it either. May get to pittsburg to burn leaves before thksgiving. Finished painting some pump panels this week and probably no more painting/body work for me till spring. Just costs too much to run propane radiant tube heater in the building I rent to be worth it. Need to keep above 60 for epoxy primer/paint to cure correctly. But I do have some projects here in my nice insulated heated garage to work on this winter. Nice deer story Joe! They're sure running around here. Did get a nice bike ride in yesterday on the Katy and met my old high school buds for lunch. I'd love to buy a new bike but the one I want is way pricey so have to sell a pump first! Stay well all!

Morning all,
Though my day was my own today but remembered the cleaning lady is coming. It's kinda comical because I try to stay outta her way but end up right where she wants to be. Dog just looks at me like I'm crazy.
I ordered a drop kit for my 2024 F150. Even at 6' 2" I have to hang one butt cheek on the seat and slide over. Hopefully the 2" drop will solve that. Those step bars are useless for me. Not sure if the dog will be able to jump in like she used to in the 2WD we had previously. I got the idea from Art Scott, he had one of his trucks dropped.I've gotta go over to Ford and pick the "Ford drop Kit" up, maybe while the cleaning lady is here.
I worked a little on the inner door panels of the 56 yesterday. Then found some screws that were stripped and ended up chasing parts. I really need to get it back running, if you can call it that, so I can put it in the barn and bring the replacement engine over to the house garage so I can work on it in the warmth.
Lots to do and no gumption to get after it.

good morning missouri.. was in springfield yesterday getting my dose of poison, i guess the VA shrink said i was only half crazy, so the treatments will continue.. .. while up that way i stopped by alans for a minute to check on his trailer project, he was beefing up the wheel crane so it could pick up a sherman tank if the need arises ..ha ha ha ha
rich that was cool to got to visit with a old 'nam' vet, they are getting thin.. ... i bet you two did have a good conversation since you both had the similar mos. ... did he happen to mention the year and pcs base

after i got home i had a call from my x-girl friends son that was like a step son for years.. he killed his first deer and needed help to field dress then butcher it.. was fun being with him again after so many years.. i took him on his first hunt 'squirrel' back in the 90's and he said he could not think of anyone else he knew in the area that could help him with the deer.. his mom died of a overdose about 15yrs back and we havent seen each other since, so it was good catching up..

i hope the rest of ya'll can stay dry and warm... i know i am going to try my best to

Afternoon Everyone!

This trailer is eating my lunch! It refuses to cooperate. I tested it last night and everything worked like it should. I went out today to tidy up some things. I went to slide the trolley back a little and the cable snapped. I had another length, so I restrung that. Tried to move it again and the trolley jammed. I tested it just after I welded it. It worked fine. I guess when it cooled, the track shrunk and the trolley was getting jammed in the tracks. I make a few relief cuts and spread the tracks back out and it moves back and forth great. I go to make one last adjustment and I see the cable is frayed already. I can't take it. I'm going to take a break and throw the last two lags in the work bench. The extension cord won't reach, Why? The 1,200 pound tire is sitting on it. Roll that out of the way. The tractor bucket was also sitting on it. Go to start the tractor to raise the bucket and the tractor battery is dead! Use a piece of 2x4 to pry the bucket up enough to get the cord out and drill the holes I need. Then go to Lowe's and get thicker cable for the slide winch. I AM LIVID right now. I still have to paint it and clean up before I'm done. ...which is all I had planned to do when I walked out there this morning!

Alan...on a daily basis we all go thru that kinda agraviating stuff one way or the other. You are not alone in the fight to just get things done, just done dammit, I mean just this one thing to get done leads to all this other stuff rearing its ugly head. Dead batteries...I think I live in a battery kill zone. All sorts of things worked great last time I touched them... like 2 months ago, now the SOB's are locked up, dead, froze, broke, misplaced, were borrowed without no one asking me. All them trucks and trailer tags were good last month, now they are ALL expired. At least it is going to rain tomorrow and you will hopefully be IN the trailer working instead of out IN the rain working on the outside. Hang in there.

Mike yes that centrificial switch AKA points were gobbed shut by some mud dobers, so I hope to get it reinstalled tomorrow and get that project futher along.

RC X2 always great to reconnect with past XGF sons.

Dave is you are going to burn leaves at the lake this Sat or Sun. Be prepared for WET leaves thanks to todays and fri rain that is a comming. If you want to meet up in Bolivar for a evening dinner, give me a hollar, I am baching it. Penny went to her daughters/grand daughters today since they have Xmas shopping to do this weekend and monday.

Headlight relay kit advice.
I would like to install Headlight relay kits on both of our pickups. I replaced the switch in Sherrys pickup shortly after we bought it, I replaced mine a few years ago. My switch is now going out again, kind of unsettling to be driving in the dark and the headlights suddenly go off. Both trucks have 7" sealed beam H6024 lights. I am not putting LEDS or any other style of lights in either truck. I just want a relay kit to take the high amperage load off the Headlight switch.
Anyone have any recommendations?
Most kits that i see works with H4, or 5x7 or____ whatever. I have no idea what would work.
Any help is appreciated

Here is a common 73-79 plug and play harness that gets its relay power direct from the battery, but is controlled thru the head light switch. I am sure some one has the same thing for your older trucks. Bingo way below.

https://www.lmctruck.com/lighting/he...dlight-harness

1975-1972 harness. https://www.lmctruck.com/electrical/...dlight-harness

And a 1966 Bronco harness. https://shop.broncograveyard.com/196...hoCyAYQAvD_BwE

Some run a fuse that lets you run BOTH (high and low) lamps when on high beam. I got one from a Bronco vendor for my RED Bronco, easy plug and play under the hood.
