good afternoon missouri... john T maybe you could make some shock mounts for the 72 i was too lazy.. it never was much fun when i was using it as my daily driver some of the roads around here will beat ya up in a new truck and just tortured ya in the ole flat-bump....

atch i dont remember how bad the fenders i had were.. i had 3-4 trucks for parts when i built the 49 back in the 90's i could of repaired some but buying the fairlane full clip was less than 700.00 so just went that route.. i know i sold one or two fenders through the years but will check what i still have for ya

bj i hope you and ginger are doing well.. did you want complete engines or just blocks..i think i had 2 maybe 3 complete and 1 block with heads and one shortblock.. but its been awhile since i looked for any y-block parts

the rest of ya'll seem to be doing good..so just keep it up...

Lots of cutting, grinding and welding done today. Tomorrow I might have a trolley to load in to the gantry, but time will tell. I have to make yet another run to OKC in the near future to pick up the water tank and sprayer for the water truck. He wants to be able to use it the weekend of the 15th in Texas. I hope he knows that's not going to happen.

That of course is NOT my dent side getting used a little hard, but I like the effort and that truck looks like it can handle it. A lot of folks that come to SMORR trailer their rigs there. I trailer my Bronco, with 5.38 gears, a spool in the back, locker in the front, not a pavement vehicle by no means. I'd love to have a roadable one, but that can take the fun out of wheeling hard.

For the ones that drive their off road rig there, and then off road them hard and have a bad break, are the guys with a roll back or a buddy with a trailer on speed dial.

Alan be careful, you only have ONE back.

Morning all.
Rich, my wife has gone to the reentry conference a couple times when she worked for Corizon/Centruian. That was some crazy work. She placed inmates in nursing homes.
BJ, you are welcome any time. After thanksgiving my schedule will lighten up more. My weekends until then are pretty booked. Evenings are usually open during the week.

We are off to Cedar Rapids today for Sarah's cross country meet on Saturday. We have a funeral this morning. My high school buddies dad passed on Sunday.
Next weekend is hunting in Bolivar. I think we will drive my truck down there in case we have a bunch of meat to haul back.

Good Morning Everybody!

Rich. No worries, I made it so the trolley can get hoisted up with my tractor and slid in to the tracks. ....that's the hope, anyway.

I need to call the guy that I'm going to pick up the parts from in OKC. I'll probably head out Monday to get them. I'm trying to use all the warm weather to get this tire crane together. I don't mind driving with the heater on if it's cold out.

Joe,

When you get done deer hunting down south would you mind coming up here and kill a couple of hundred in central MO? There are WAY too many nowadays. I've seen a dozen or two road killed in the last week close to where I live. Maybe it's time the conservation commission eliminated the limits and seasons; just let anyone kill as many as they want to at any time. Maybe then the population might diminish some. I remember as a high schooler in the 60's if someone saw a deer it was a topic of feverish discussion. It was just that uncommon. BUT you never heard of one being hit by a car.

Yesterday evening was the last Mid Missouri Model A Restorers Club meeting that I had to preside over. There won't be a December meeting as our Christmas party takes the place of a meeting. Next year Donn will be president, so I get at least a year's reprieve from that obligation. It's not really a headache or nuisance but it does take up some time and requires some effort.

Hope to get a thermostat installed in the Buick this afternoon while it's still reasonably warm. I had to replace it about 10 years ago and at that time I had to do it in somewhat bitter cold and snowy conditions. Out on a gravel driveway. With only about 3 metric wrenches/sockets. Thank goodness for Crescent wrenches. Chevrolet/Buick dealer wanted 3 hours (@ $150/hr.) to install it. I beat that time in the poor conditions I was working under. And oh-by-the-way; they wanted $90 for the part which I bought at O'Riley's for $8. This time I get to do it in my shop. Concrete floors. No wind. Reasonably good light. Drawers full of metric tools. It should go quite a bit easier this time around.

Note: three hours sounds incredible until you realize that you've got to take the throttle body and a whole bunch of other stuff off to get to it; then put it all back together.

'Til later...

Evening All!

I got a lot done on the trolley for the tire lift. I need to add a few odds and ends and bolt some stuff to it, then I can paint it and slide it in the gantry. BUT FIRST, .....I have to freakin' go back to OKC tomorrow to pick up the crap for the water truck. I'm about sick of driving to OKC.

Work for 7 hrs, on stuff that I am not really "hired" to be working on. But SOMEONE has to do it, or it will not get done. The run down to Spg to neet with step daughter/SIL and grand daughter. Eat dinner and then come home and have her all weekend. 1st up on the morning agenda take her for breakfast (biscuits and gravy) and then Wally World for some "art work supplies".

I figured that the 1st time I would get to use my mini split was as a heater. The way that is going I now bet not until I need a/c in the shop. Thankfully I got the shops propane tank filled when it was cheaper.

Ya'll have a good one, freezing temps come sunday.

Morning all,
Just sitting in my hotel room catching up on e-mails. We're suppose to go to a fantastic arcade today with the boys. I'm not much for those types of things but if the boys have fun.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. Hopefully the weather won't put a damper on your plans.

Mor ning still!
Ordered a new motorcraft radiator for my f150 which should be here tomorrow. Like Atch, I get to replace it in my heated garage with concrete floor. We see way too many deer every day. And now even the big bucks are moving. My wife only goes about 20mph around here for fear of hitting one. Going over as a spectator to columbia ill car show this afternoon. They won't finish up till near dark and I don't want to get run over on the interstate in carletta doing 50mph. Nice pics of gas pumps!
